Guest guest
have you ever been checked for Babesia. I had horrid fevers and sweats. My first test for Babesia was negative, but second one highly positive. I now take Mepron which has helped tremendously. I almost went nuts with those sweats. Babs can be a sleeper disease and can come out at any time. Good luck, Connie, MI
Guest guest
Connie - sorry I have been too ill ( with fever ) to check in - thank you. They are making my life unbearable. I take Cipro and that helps after a few days of treatment. But it's not from a Lyme doc its from a urologist ( who is treating me for bladder irritation - he thought it was that ). I am not even sure where to begin looking - I was bitten by a tick in Africa *in an area that is understudied in Lyme* and was dxed with tick bite fever ( a common name in South Africa ) something alot of africans get. Then was given a common antibiotic but the course may have been 'wrong' or not long enough. I have been living this NIGHTMARE for 6 years now and am 31. My brother and I both had it and now have similar symptoms. I wonder if that strain is present in Antelope - lol, I have to laugh a litte, at least my tick is from a exotic location...it's like a little piece of that holiday in my forever...lol. But Actually, how does one test for this? I am in Canada - I have to figure out my own dx and treatments here - my doc doesn't know enough, nor do the infectious dis. spec. thanks for your input - which test showed this? sincerely Carmen > have you ever been checked for Babesia. Guest guest
Carmen - where in Canada? Are you in Vancouver, by any chance? If so, I can look up the name of a LLMD there whose name I've seen quite a bit. Elaine ?
