thanks, i'll do that when april comes around!! i just called work and they

said it's a very complicated to get an adjustable work station. she said they

have contacted the nurse several times for the dimensions with no response.

anyone know how they determine this?? i tried to explain to the woman i just

can't stay in one place. i want a desk to sit and one to stand. she said bldg

services and the other lady's dr's office worked long and hard to get her

station done right. didn't look that hard to me. the went and bought some

brackets. fixed it to the cubicle wall and hung the desktop instead of

resting it on the drawers?!?! i have said for over a year now. let me know

what size brackets you need. i'll go to builders square!!! geez!!!! a long

time ago i worked for the phone company. they had 2 adjustable desks at every

office. with electric lifts so you could raise or lower them as needed. i

have no idea how to find out where they got them, or designed them. i have

been home for 2 months and no one has done anything to help me!!!!!then on

the other hand i am trying to repair my house from the ice dam. i feel really

wierd thinking about new carpet and paint while being so broke. sorry needed

to vent.

Kathy,

Sounds to me like you need to talk to a rheumatologist about possible

fibro. Unfortunatley there are too many doctors who do not recognize it as

well as too many doctors who give the diagnosis out without good cause.

There are so many people with RA and fibro that I think all of us should

take it seriously if a doctor suspects it. I know that a feels so much

better since she has been diagnosed and treated - there is something they

can do for fibro.

I hope today is a good day for you - sounds like you are due for one.

the thing you need to remember is that for some reason people need something

visual, and since you don't have anything broken and in a cast or are

bleeding , " there can't possibly be anything wrong with you " the thing you

need too remember is that you do have it, it is there, its not your

imagination.and you have to do what is right for you. if that means you need

desks a certain height they should be willing to provide them, just to keep

you on as an employee.

Also remember the ADA act was approved for people just like this. Employers

are required to make certain adjustments for people with disabilities and not

treat them any different than another employee. You might want to remind the

HR department about that. Your employer should be grateful you are working

regardless of the pain you are in. Keep us posted.

Kathy, do you work for a large employer (over 20 employees?)I thought the new

ADA laws read that if over certain amount they have to make workplace

ergonomically correct or you?Judy in AZ

to double check to make sure the dr and facility were part of my plan and

they are not!!!! $1000 ded and pymt of 70%!!! so now i've been bleeding at

least a week and i can't do this tomorrow!!! i told my son i may just go to

the e/r and make them see me. i'd rather pay the $50 e/r fee than $1000 ded!!!

Kathy,

Good luck with your scope tomorrow and your starvation diet today. I think

the prep is the worst part of tests like a colonoscopy.

You just made my recovery from surgery seem like a breeze - at least I can eat.

Kathy,

Don't let this go. If you go to ER, they will probably get it scheduled

right away. These insurance companies are out of line with their

restrictions and putting your health at risk but we all go through it anymore.

Good Luck,

Cheryl, I was on trazadone for a sleep disorder too and had to discontinue

it for the bad fatigue it gave me throughout the rest of the day. Do you

have that problem?

Kathy,

The letter sounds good. I hope it works with your employer. Gee 5/1 is

next week, did the time off seem to help? My mind wants to go back to work,

but my body won't cooperate. In fact, yesterday, I had an appt with the

rheumy, didn't get in until 7:10 pm, so it must have been a long day for him

& I caught everything that was wrong with his day. So after his encouraging

words of wisdom NOT, I am off ALL medication & won't be returning to him or

any other docs for a long time if ever. My employer can contact these guys

if they want to. So I guess I will have to find the strength to return to

work soon. They still have not made a decision on my long term disability

yet, I will probably be dead before a decision comes down. It is a tough

day when cold turkey these medications, but somethings just have to be done.

I will be thinking of you on 5/1.....Please let us know if you do return &

how things are going.....

Gentle, tender, angel hugs,

Debs

no the time off really did nothing except maybe let me figure out how to

survive. they shorted my last check because i didn't bring the script in

until monday. stupid me already put the checks in the mail. so i had to beg,

borrow and sell my wedding rings!!! that was kinda depressing. but they sat

in a box for 8 years. work now needs time to get my desk ordered. that will

take forever. my supervisor asked if anyone called me and i told her no. i

told her i was still planning on comming to work on tuesday, so if i'm not

supposed to have someone call me. plus i start my remicade infusions on the

8th. that never made sense to me either. lets have her just sit at home for 4

months. send her back to work then the following week lets try a new drug!!!!

I am so sorry you are feeling such despair right now. I get like that too.

It is so frustrating being trapped in this body and dependent on others so

much of the time. I'm working now part time and it is wearing me out

terribly. I can totally relate. Add to that my husband gambling away close

to half a mil and you could see why I am down! Life can be overwhelming at

times. Just take it in small doses and do the best you can. And as for your

Dad taking another job, I can only say that as a mother, there is no hardship

I would gladly take on to do for my son and be happy about doing it. It gives

me a sense of worth to be able to do and help. Let him have that for you.

lopsided!!! my wrists hurt, especially the left one. the muscles right under

the elbow. my neck my back my feet. i am gonna go and rest. i will be working

7- 11:30 they figure with all the breaks i take it'll equal out to 4 hrs.

Dear Kathy:

I guess I missed some emails but I was just wondering, why are you not on

disability? I can't understand, working half days sounds crazy to me. If

you can't work a full day of work you should be considered disabled and

should be collecting from the federal government. You live in the US right?

This makes me so angry that someone is allowing a sick person, who should be

taking it easy, to work. Have you applied for disability? Have you been

rejected? If you have, apply again. I know someone who applied 3 times and

finally got it. Don't give up.

Good luck and stay in touch. I just wonder why you are working?

Sincerely, Colletti

Good for you Kathy. This week has been pretty rough on me and I work usually

4-8 hour shifts. I worked Tuesday for 5 hours and was nearly dead when I came

home. This has been one of those weeks where I am having pity parties for

myself!

Hang in there. I know it is not easy, but I know a lot of us feel your pain

and suffering.
