The meds are apparently working if you feel better. We are all here to support one another. Hang in there. [ ] Lyme and TB Has anyone heard of Lyme causing a PPD/TB test come back as positive? I tested positive back in 1990 for exposure to TB upon returning from Desert Storm. I have had many symptoms of Lyme going back to the late 70's and early 80's; fatigue, joint pains/stiffness, problems with short term memory to name a few. I can remember things from a long time ago, but cannot remeber what I did yesterday and this has been going on for many years. I am on 4 abx for lyme and babesosis and have improved some since being in the hospital in Sept. I am not as fatigued as I was and feel physically better. However, I am still have severe probelms with short term memory, twitching/tremors, joint pain (no swelling), hard time concentrating, numb feet with hypersensitivity, insomnia, just to name a few. My psychiatrist changed some of my medications this past month, that helped my runaway emotions. I have also been diagnosed as bipolar with some psychotic episodes and also take meds for ADD. The meds I am now on for mental health are keeping my emotions in check. One day without them and I am in tears, iritable, angry, hallucinations and sometimes suicidal. I am still out of work on long term disibility; luckily my employer has a long term disability insurance. I cannot drive at this point due to the involentary twitching and disorientation. I am afraid to get behind the wheel at this point. So between the short term memory problems, disorentation, and tremors/twitching, I am not sure when I will go back to work. Since my energy is coming back, hopefully the other symptoms will start start to go away as well. Only time will tell. Do you ingest any type of diet products now or perhaps low fat products? Do you drink any type of soda? During Desert Storm did you drink bottled water that sat in the hot sun??? ****if you answered yes to any of the above questions, you could very well be reacting to " artificial chemical sweetners " ...... *****I am an aspartame/nutra sweet/sweet N low survivor......you may write to me privately if you wish. I lost part of my right lung, have systemic lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia back in the 80's due to my addiction to Diet Dr pepper and Diet Coke. It was a horrible detox and recovery..... *****I will be posting about my diagnosis of lyme's later, as I'm still trying to get my head wrapped around this added diagnosis. I also have Sjogrens, Lymphadenophy (recent throat surgery to remove to large infected lymph nodes, one of which was coiled around my cartoid artery.....4 1/2 surgery, which I almost didn't make it through..... *****So much of what I have experienced in the last year is now coming to light with being diagnosed with Lyme's.......When they opened my throat up (11/10/04) they said the lymph nodes (one around the cartoid artery the size of baseball) looked as though it was infected with TB???!!! The pathology came back negative for TB. So needless to say when I read this post it got my attention. Thank God you are still è w/us. ***** that is not the half of it, but my faith in God and my spiritual beliefs gives me strength. I have several friends who are Reiki Masters and they are keeping me on my feet in many ways. I will be posting my history but right now I'm going through DETOX with some alternatives from a Homeopathic MD I have been seeing for over 20 years and just trying to keep up with my website/message boards as well as my hepatitis email groups and patients is a bit much. ****One of the things I am taking is Samento along with other remedies and I am journaling as I go along as best I can. I will say this, the first 14 days were pure hell with the DETOX, but I'm able to tolerate it more and more. I'm a bit nervous though as I'm scheduled for surgery on my left breast on 2/5/04 for necrosing vasculitis and I won't be able to take these things the day of the surgery. However, if I am released from recovery early enough I will go to my Homeopathic MD and get my IV, which will help.....
