Guest guest
Sita, maybe everyone has had this feeling. When I took my first .5mg dose almost 4 months ago I got a great lift...then it never came again. Then when I finally got to 2mg about 2 weeks ago I felt a good shift but it's gone too. I take 600mg ALA daily as many suggest. My joints have been feeling worst the last week or so but it's been colder and raining a lot so manybe it's the weather too. I'm off LDN for a couple days. I don't know whether it agrees with me or not. I deal with FM and OA. Generally I have more energy, but my joints seem to feel worse. When looking up the side effects of Naltrexone one of them is joint and muscle pain!!!!!! So I just don't know, if it's for me or not. Those who take it with NO problems are very fortunate. A couple friends trying to take it for CFS are having major problems, it's just not working for them. [low dose naltrexone] LDN helping and then not helping Hi, I'm new to this group and LDN and I wonder if anyone can help me. My dr put me on LDN two weeks ago at 1.5mg. I started taking it and felt jittery the first day and then started to feel better - better than I've felt in years. That lasted for about a week and all of a sudden last week I stopped feeling good and now I feel worse than I did before I started taking it. I've played around with the dosage a little bit going up to 3mg and then back to 1.5mg, but nothing works right now. Has anyone had a similar experience or has any insight into this? I'm so upset because I've been sick for twelve years, and it was really amazing to feel good for a week and then so devastating to slip back again. Any advice is much appreciated.Sita No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG - www.avg.com Version: 9.0.733 / Virus Database: 271.1.1/2674 - Release Date: 02/07/10 11:35:
Guest guest
Wow, Sita, I understand you must feel down, twelve years, some freedom, then plunk. Just a wild ass guess, but about thirty percent of folks who use LDN start out this way. Firstly LDN is not like any other medicine, it does not treat the symptoms, as medications prescribed often do. LDN starts with the rebuilding of your immune system, and ramps up your pitutitary gland to produce some ten different hormones, and more noone knows about. I have leukemia, which has a side of fungus/candida, LDN seems to encourage fungus, that may be causing your downer. Each time LDN seemed to stop working, I used diflucan/ lamisil to knock down the yeast, and I started feeling much better almost within hours. Thanks to this group, I am taking coconut oil, and that seems to have put my yeast at rest, kinda early to tell, but my desire for sweets has diminished and my desire for vege's and salads has increased. Yeast is used in our digestive tract to break down cellulose, among other things, anywho some is ok, but if it gets outta hand, too much, it really seems to overwork our immune system. I am told to stay away from sweets, sugars, white bread and limited amoumts of starches, carbohydrates and sweeten fruit. Similiar to the Atkins or south seas diet, Lot of protein and vegs, and thats also good to keep blood pressure down. Take a probiotic, "CP1", and an anti-yeast pill from the health food store. Personally I believe yeast overgrowth is grossly overlooked, I saw a short film clip filmed thru an electron microscope of white blood cells attacking yeast/candida, it was a futile suicide attack for the immune system. My thoughts are, keep the yeast under control, which saves my immune system for other task. I have never heard of too little yeast causing illness. Alpha Lopoic Acid, 600mgs daily, is often suggested with LDN, Reseratrol seems to boost my energy level, as does coconut oil. stay healthy, david a [low dose naltrexone] LDN helping and then not helping Hi, I'm new to this group and LDN and I wonder if anyone can help me. Guest guest
Hi Sita Why are you taking LDN? It`s quite common to feel worse before you feel better so try to stick it out if you can - it`s most unlikely that it`s doing you any harm but might feel uncomfortable for awhile. I wouldnt play around with the dose up and down too much- stick at 1.5mg and try to take it regularly at bedtime, between 9p.m and 3am. Once you are used to that then double up and see how that goes. Very few people take it in the day time and the studies that have been done, have been based on night time dosing. Give your body a chance to get used to the drug and start healing. For people with MS, for example, they quite often experience their old symptoms coming back to " bite " them before it all settles down. I hope youre not in so much discomfort that you dont give it a real test, which is considered to be at least 6 months. Good luck!
Guest guest
Look up "healing Crisis", you general heal in reverse order. You feel worse [healing] then you start to overcome the aickness. You must make sure yeast is addressed, heavy metals, lyme etc. LDN will not work if you have certain other issues going on. Then ,I beleive you need to get to at least 3 mg,for several months [4 months] eat well and you should slowly recover. Herx reaction is a healing indicator.Just takes time From: low dose naltrexone on behalf of sitasaxeSent: Sun 2/7/2010 8:18 PMlow dose naltrexone Subject: [low dose naltrexone] LDN helping and then not helping Hi, I'm new to this group and LDN and I wonder if anyone can help me. Guest guest
Sita, Maybe you are one of those who gets a build up in the liver and would be best suited to say three times a week dosing, try and read Zagon's work and listen to the interview he did with Boyle Bradley on Blog talk radio...... I wish you well Celia
