Guest guest
takes 3-6 months to start real noticable healing. Take magnesium in the form of product called calm. absorbs better and acts quickerWith larger dose, will eliminate consitpations, naturally..Have you checked for lyme,or babesia? God Bless From: low dose naltrexone on behalf of JOYCE MARTINOSent: Sun 1/17/2010 11:13 AMLDN List; Very_Low_Dose_NaltrexoneSubject: [low dose naltrexone] 3 Month Progress Report Hi all, I really thought by now I be feeling better and better on LDN. I started dosing very low .5mg, went up gradually over the months, had horrible constipation at different points, backed down on dosing, got to 1.5mg at one point and after 3 days on that dose, was kept awake most of that night. I need my sleep. Bumped up my magnesium daily and eat more fiber than ever, just ate a huge salad for breakfast. I've had chronic constipation all my life. I know when one looks at Naltrexone side effects, constipation is right up there. And yes I drink more and more water than ever. I'm challenged with FM (milder than many), OA and AS (very stiff lower back for 50some years). I'm 71. I take a lot of supps including Vit D3, Grapeseed Extract, Armour thyroid, adrenal support, and many more. When I take LDN straight for say 7 days or so I begin to feel worse. In the very beginning on the .5mg I felt great, I've never gotten that feeling again. My positives while being on LDN are: the rheumatic aches on my arms have disappated. The index trigger finger on my left hand disappeared. I had more energy for a while and now I'm beginning to wonder. I sleep very good and constant dreaming. Many mornings I can keep sleeping and go on dreaming but push myself to get out of bed after 10 hrs of sleep or so. Right now I'm taking 1mg every 2-3 rd day. My enthusiasm is not what it was in the beginning. I don't know what to think anymore. Perhaps I'm one who can't tolerate higher doses of LDN. My lower back stiffness is my worst issue and knee and pelvic problems are still with me. I found a new exercise program and one exercise is a Supine Groin Stretch and this helps and I do it every day. We shall see but this is my 3 month report. Thanks all. joyce Oh BTW: I still take my very low dose at 9am. Night dosing in the beginning was horrible on my sleep and I'm afraid to try again. I need my good night's sleep. Does LDN work for Everyone??????
Guest guest
Thanks for that insight, I've been taking Armour 3 grains NOW since 2002. I seem to be pretty optimized on thryoid "food" and really don't want to go higher. I also take 1-2 drops of Iosol iodine daily. I went for about 10 yrs undiagnosed from 1991-2001 from the conventional docs re: sluggish thyroid and FINALLY my osteopath put me on Armour in 2002 and I'm a changed person, but the constipation persists. Somone mentioned they got great help with pumpkin seeds, I've heard positive comments on the virtues of pumpkin. Guest guest
Anyone with chronic constipation might consider supplementing with magnesium, most people desperately need more of it and it has a pronounced laxative effect (as per " milk of magnesia " ). Magnesium citrate is a good choice. I'm currently on the iodine protocol and mag supplementation is integral to that, have been reading up on it. -- At 02:39 PM 1/17/2010, you wrote: >constipation and fibro has to do with thyroid problems ~~~ There is no way to peace; peace is the way ~~~~ --A.J. Guest guest
I wanted to send this link, which is a good intro to mag supplementation, plus, it gave me the name of a mag supplement that does NOT have a laxative effect, an important choice for those of us who need to avoid the lax effect, and that is magnesium glycinate. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dr-mark-hyman/magnesium-the-most-powerf_b_425499.h\ tml --V ---------------------------------- Anyone with chronic constipation might consider supplementing with magnesium, most people desperately need more of it and it has a pronounced laxative effect (as per " milk of magnesia " ). Guest guest
, I've been taking mag for probably 10+ yrs and YES many are deficient. I've taken all forms glycinate included. Since taking LDN, have upped my dose from 400mg per day to 900-1200mg. I'm going to try the Calm product and see how that works for my body. I've known about it for many years and hear about it often now. Thanks...joyce Re: [low dose naltrexone] 3 Month Progress Report I wanted to send this link, which is a good intro to mag supplementation, plus, it gave me the name of a mag supplement that does NOT have a laxative effect, an important choice for those of us who need to avoid the lax effect, and that is magnesium glycinate.http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dr-mark-hyman/magnesium-the-most-powerf_b_425499.html--V----------------------------------Anyone with chronic constipation might consider supplementing with magnesium, most people desperately need more of it and it has a pronounced laxative effect (as per "milk of magnesia"). Guest guest
I give canned pumpkin to my dog so he isn't constipated. Our doggie chiropractor recommended. If it works for them, then why not for us? LOL (He also gets plain yogurt and string beans with the pumpkin.) Glowing, grace~
