I have been treated with many antibiotics over the past four years, both oral and IV. My immune system was in such a bad state that without the antibiotics, I could have never managed to come back from Lyme and the four co-infections I had. > > I have had no colds and only one virus in all of this time so as long as your doctor is supplementing your immune system with the proper supplementation, there is a decent chance that you will eventually be fine. I am also using Buhner's protocol along with some other herbs my doctor uses and for me, neither is a panacea. However I have come along way and I could have never come this far without the antibiotics. > > Just another perspective. > > > >
Guest guest
Teasel tincture at Jeans greens that's where Lady Barbara got hers. I'm sure there are other sources as well. Hope that's helpful! Suzanne > > > > > > HI, well I have been having challenges taking abx. I was on oral doxy for 2 months in the fall; relapsed during the 2nd month on it. Now I'm on IV Rocephin for 6 weeks [10 days to go]. Was doing well but symptoms re-emerged again this week. Feeling discouraged. My diet's been good; I've practically gone gluten and processed sugar-free. Hard to reduce stress with small children at home but I've tried. I only got lyme last spring -- misdiagnosed 'till October -- suppose that was long enough to make this very difficult to treat. I know of someone else who had it for over a year, went on IV Rocephin and recovered completely. > > > > I haven't taken Buhner's herbs yet [except for Resveratol] because the contraindications said not to take while taking blood thinners. On this IV, I give myself heparin flushes during the day --- when I do the infusion and there are times during the day when blood backs up into the tube and I need to flush it out again with heparin. So I'm waiting 'till off the treatment to do the cat's claw and the androphagis. Feeling discouraged today; this is hard sometimes. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > [ ] Herbs and/or antibiotics > > > > I disagree with the contention that long term antibiotic use destroys the immune system. Guest guest
Lady Barbara now makes her own teasel and other herbal tinctures. I know some sources were posted on Lyme_and_Rife group but can't easily find them. You might try looking. It was posted around Jan. 11 or 12, I think, right after the teleseminar by Wood. You can hear a couple audio seminars about teasel on the www.lymehope.com site. deb > > > > deb, where can i buy teasel? > > > > > >
Guest guest
this is considered a common weed from Connecticut south although it can be bought as seed and will grow in zone 4 and 5 ........easy to grow ...its the roots you want at 2 as its a biennial .......and its a spreader ...... I get very upset when I see something so easy to find and so easy to grow being marketed at such .prices I think you might go to catalogs and search what companies sell it or just google it teasel seed sources........seed lasts a few years too as even if you don't have a yard sprinkle it around roadsides that no animals graze an old dirt road is perfect and it will not hurt the habitat nor is it invasive...the finches love it and it is easy to gather seed with gloves ____________________________________ From: myheartsingz@... Guest guest
I found some sources for teasel. www.ladybarbara.net www.jeansgreens.com www.walkerherbs.com www.woodlandessence.com www.mistymeadows.org www.deltagardens.com (Teasel Flower Essence) You can find Lady Barbara's info on dosing on http://www.s159523713.onlinehome.us/Lyme_Disease.htm. Some people take GSE along with the teasel. Ramp up as always. I believe it is suggested that you take the GSE 3x a day, at the same time as the teasel dose. deb > > > > > > deb, where can i buy teasel? > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Teasel also grows in my area in California--yes it is along the roadsides. Tinctures are quite easy to make. I learned it from a local herbalist in her classes that I attended, but I imagine you can find it online. You put the herb in approximately* 1/2 water and 1/2 alcohol and basically let it sit for six weeks. I use a wide mouth canning jar covering the top of the jar with waxed paper to protect the metal of the jar lid because you will be turning the jar filled with the herb and alcohol mixture upside down every day. After six weeks, the alcohol will have extracted the medicinal part of the herb. Strain and store the finished tincture in an air-tight bottle. Put the remains of the herb into your compost pile. *There are formulas for the water/alcohol ratios for each herb in the very old [1920's] pharmaceutical formularies. The increased alcohol ratio is for herbs that do not absorb well in water. I imagine this information is available somewhere on the internet.
