deb,

I wonder if you used it in the right proportion?

The first time I used it, I used the proportions for tea!

But when I reduced the amount of stephania, I found it worked very well to help

my eyes.

Hi,

This is from p. 170:

" stephania root, 1/2 teaspoon, of the tincture 3x daily, eyewash with decoction.

vincamine, 20 mg 3X daily

1000 mg Vitamin C, 3x daily, (effervescent salts)

Zinc, 60 mg daily. "

And in the section on stephania root:

3-9 grams of the whole herb are taken daily or 5-10 grams slow-boiled (simmered)

in one half to one quart of water (decoction) for 60 minutes and consumed daily.

The decoction can be used topically for eye inflammations as well as taken

internally.

Let cool.

---I used the dried herb. I don't remember how much I used. I didn't actually

follow the directions above, bec. I don't have anything that measures grams.

Perhaps I followed a recipe that someone on this list gave me.

sorry I can't be more help, but perhaps the above will help.

regards,

ellen

Although the eyewash does burn, it is effective.

Here is link to a recipe on ehow.com.

http://www.ehow.com/how_5237109_use-eyewash-tea-lyme-disease.html

It calls for 4 oz of the root. This is likely a typo. 4 oz equals 113.398 g

which is far too much!!! I asked the author to clarify but it was never changed

online. I am assuming they meant 4 g.
