Guest guest
Hi , I'm very sorry to hear about your son. No 8-year-old should have to experience this. In my opinion, waiting for test results in the presence of an obvious EM rash is malpractice bordering on criminal negligence. From the CDC website (http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dvbid/lyme/ld_humandisease_diagnosis.htm): Lyme disease is diagnosed based on symptoms <http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dvbid/lyme/ld_humandisease_symptoms.htm> , objective physical findings (such as erythema migrans <http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dvbid/lyme/ld_LymeDiseaseRashPhotos.htm> , facial palsy, or arthritis), and a history of possible exposure to infected ticks. Validated laboratory tests can be very helpful but are not generally recommended when a patient has erythema migrans. Of course the next sentence mentions the ridiculous two-stage testing approach (ELISA->WB), but the point is that even the CDC recommends action, not testing, in the presence of an EM rash. Time is of the essence. If your LLMD does not get back to you promptly I would suggest finding another MD locally who will treat based on symptoms. Despite the flood of misinformation/disinformation from the Steere/Wormser clones, Lyme awareness is steadily increasing among mainstream MDs. You may get lucky. It is certainly worth a try. As for the effects of doxy on young teeth, I know nothing. My own teeth have been yellowish for as long as I can remember - possibly from one or more of the antibiotics I received as a child. It hasn't had any impact on my quality of life. What has been utterly devastating is Lyme disease and all the ramifications thereof. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Hope this helps, Jeff From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of team_garp Sent: Monday, October 18, 2010 3:58 PM Subject: [ ] My son may have been bitten by LD tick on Wednesday My 8 year old son has developed a bullseye rash on his arm with a white center. My wife has chronic Lyme already and is understandably freaking out. She just got back from the doctor's office. Of course, they are not sure it is Lyme and think it is MRSA or staph infection? She asked that they start him on Doxy and they said no because it can cause problems with 8 & under children and it stains their teeth? She asked about Amox and they said no because it would not work and would make the staph worse? They gave her a Abox cream and told her to use that until the labs came back...this all sounds like crap to me. Shouldn't he start the Doxy right away? We all know the elisa test is garbage also. The only lab that may come back to solve any of this would be the staph/MRSA test I guess. My wife's LDD has not returned her call and has no email to send a picture. His office is 3 1/2 hours drive away. Not sure what to do??? Suggestions??? Thanks,

Guest guest
CS? From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Sent: Wednesday, October 20, 2010 3:11 PM Subject: RE: [ ] My son may have been bitten by LD tick on Wednesday If he were my son I would have him on Amoxy (not doxy in children due to teeth discoloration) for at least 6 weeks past last symptoms. That's the guidelines of ILADS (www.ilads.org) Or I would use CS for this period, this is actually my first choice as the CS has been effective in helping my wife get her Chronic Lyme into remission. www.lyme-resource.com You can lead a person to a fact, but you can't make them think! - > [ ] My son may have been bitten by LD > tick on Wednesday > > My 8 year old son has developed a bullseye rash on his arm > with a white center. Guest guest
Sorry its short for Colloidal Silver. Its truly amazing stuff. Read the FAQ at http://www.silver-colloids.com/ there is also a free ebook there too. My wife has been using it for combating her Chronic Lyme for the last year and half. www.lyme-resource.com You can lead a person to a fact, but you can't make them think! - > [ ] My son may have been bitten by > LD tick on > > Wednesday > > > > My 8 year old son has developed a bullseye rash on his arm with a > > white center.
