Guest guest
my left ear hum/hearing loss and sound sensisitvity is GUESSED ( by the ENT and various 'ologists') to be from a combo of neural inflammation and maybe damage from infection plus added insult by neurotoxic and ototoxic antibiotics...the most notorious of these is minocycline but as that drug was a life saver for my other neuro stuff I did it anyway it has varied in intensity parallelling with other sx and Herxes...so as long as it sometimes lessens I keep the hopes it will improve ( but those times have grown scarcer lately) now that Im relapsing bad and havent gained in long run as much as Id hoped I do regret that decision about mino...hindsight being so 20-20 For me its a vibratory hum with certain sound levels and tones..often I cant take deeper voices or the TV sometimes its accompanied by a real vibration I feel inside my skull above the left ear...this one freaks me as Im thinking it could be a blood vessel or aneurism but as they never " catch it " while they CT or MRI we may never know as I flat out will NOT go for angio as I react poorly to dyes...unless they feel its life threatening anyway when at its worst the sensitivity is worse than pain...its like torture and I will use earplugs ( foamie ones) and/or earmuffs and sit in silence sometimes sitting outdoors ( NOT during camp bus times or school bus times) will help...I think nature noises block and help white noise machines dont do a THING for me look up ototoxicity and ototoxic drugs as well as tinnitus those sites have info that adds to the hypercussis entries.
