Guest guest
I know I have heard of the pads being related to Lyme. Have you done a search of this group and the Lyme strategies group for what's mentioned? i have been taking collegen - 1/every 3 days and Redisorb glutathione drops both are suppose to help the collegen distruction by lyme. Have you tried either of these? _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of knot_weed Sent: Friday, May 14, 2010 6:45 AM Subject: [ ] hand / foot problems Hi, I'm having some serious problems with the pads (? not sure regarding english word for it) in my hand and feet again. The problem started a few years ago during ABX treatment for Lyme, gradually improved but now it suddenly is back and getting worse quickly. I haven't been taking my Buhner herbs for the last 2 months or so, not sure if that has anything to do with it. Any light pressure on the pads of my hand/fingers or feet/toes makes the tissue (or blood?) inside disappear. When the pressure is removed the tissue doesn't bounce back, leaving semi-permanent wrinkles on the inside of my hand and fingers. Handling small tools spoon/knife etc. or standing on a hard floor is quite painful and damages the tissue beneath the skin, it leaves markings that remain visible for many hours at least. Even without any pressure applied the hand and feet feel a bit painful, itchy. I have similar problems with the skin/connective tissue elsewhere on my body, but the hand and feet are the worst. I'm guessing this may be some kind of electrolyte problem (my blood pressure is on the low side but generally seems OK), leaky blood vessels or maybe a heart problem (insufficient pressure under certain conditions?). Or maybe the connective tissue in the pads is seriously damaged by the Borrelias? I have had very bad fingernail condition over the last years (large white spots, ridges, brittle nails etc.), and the fingers of my right hand are very cold (about room temperature I guess) since at least a few weaks. Does anyone recognize this problem or have an idea what is wrong? I'm planning to visit my MD after the weekend, but he is usually clueless for Lymie problems. Some suggestions what to check or test (blood test?) could help.
Guest guest
Have you gone to a podiatrist or a hand specialist? You may need to get it ultrasound or inspected by some other imaging device. I am at home this week with a stress fracture in my foot. While I only experience some of what you are mentioning, now that I am in a cast I recognize that my other foot and knee are ready to give way. It is true that tick borne illnesses like to camp out in tendons and ligaments, leading to tendonitis, fractures and other overuse syndromes. Please consider seeing a specialist before potentially being immobilized. www.LongestWalk.org ________________________________ From: knot_weed <tek0nik@...> Sent: Fri, May 14, 2010 9:44:35 AM Subject: [ ] hand / foot problems Hi, I'm having some serious problems with the pads (? not sure regarding english word for it) in my hand and feet again. Have you done a > search of this group and the Lyme strategies group for what's mentioned? could not find anything useful here. what is the 'lyme strategies group'? I remember from long ago that pain in the pads of the feet is often attributed to Bartonella on lyme forums. I have been tested twice for that, both times negative. And usually people only mention pain, not the 'deforming' problems so it seems a bit different problem to me. > i have been taking collegen - 1/every 3 days and Redisorb glutathione drops > both are suppose to help the collegen distruction by lyme. Have you tried > either of these? I have tried the full collagen support protocol from Buhner, without any help. I'm not taking any collagen, I doubt it is much better than taking protein in general. AFAIK you can't absorb collagen through the gut, it needs to be digested in its amino acids first. glutathione is a good idea for helping detox, but is it also related to collagen support? Buhner does not mention this in his book I think, but glutathione does a lot of things, so could be you are right about that.
Guest guest
> > Here's the link > > lymestrategies/?yguid=251526945 thanks, found a few posts about issues that sounded a bit similar, where either detox problems or lymphatic problems are suggested. > Makes sense to me. And vegetables - they seem to cure everything. I eat more veggies than the average person, and use chlorella detox from time to time (about two months ago now, maybe should try if it has any influence). Maybe I should drink more water though than the 1-1.5 liter I'm using now (some people say at least 2-3 liters a day for good detox, but that sounds almost impossible to me). > Oxygen - the tissue not coming back I think is lack of oxygen - what can you > do (besides very deep breathing) to increase oxygen? ... > > Try breathing into your feet - As you breath in, send the breath down to > your feet - does that make sense. let me know if you want more info! it could be some kind of circulation problem yes, but I'm not too familiar with all these 'breathing' exercises. Maybe try my Xi Gong excercises again (stopped after a month because I did not notice any help from it). I have very little excercise currently, most of my time behind the computer (or a book or a piano); and on average maybe 15 minutes of outdoor walking a day. But I guess this is the same for most lymies due to general condition.
Guest guest
> > I wonder if Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy would help?? That is not a well known therapy here in Netherlands, but some beauty centers provide this therapy (or Ozone therapy which is maybe related?). If there is a problem with oxygenation, I think it should be possible to check this (e.g. ear thermometers use the oxygen level and small changes in blood color in the earlobe to measure temperature). Guest guest
What type or brand of collegen do you take...I have heard mixed reviews about if it is valuable to take or not. Thank you. > > I know I have heard of the pads being related to Lyme.
