Eventually you see the light and know the quality of life is so > important . Pain management helps in allowing us to be some what normal I am prescribed 3-4 perkosets a day. I tried the ultram last night and this a.m.....WELL my skin got all blochy and they think it may be because of the ultram, a reaction to it so they took me off of it Hopefully it will go away and that will be the reason, I was scared my lyme was coming back like in the beginning So now I'm trying the midrin and the perkoset. I gave my dr the list that I made up off of here today when I was in getting my skin checked. I am also having a CT scan on monday, she just wants to make sure everything is aok in my head with all the headaches I guess. I go see my LLMD in Ct in a week and a half, I can't wait!! Anybody else tired of getting stuck with needles, egads I've always passed out at this, it's been a fun 11 weeks! My regular dr told me today she's moving to maine, I finally found a dr I love and she's leaving me :*( G Jody G O May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy. My dr is out of town, I tried to talk to her aabout a brain spect before I went. The lab tech didn't have a clue to what I was talking about. I will talk to my dr wed when she calls with my lab results and scan results. I wonder what she was looking for in the scan then? I have no idea where middleton ct is?? I did have a spinal tap back when I ws first diagnosed, not pleasant That's how they knew i had the lyme menengitus. I had clear fluid I recall. Guest guest
Which doctor do you see in CT. I live in CT and see a Lyme Doctor in Ridgefield. Someone was telling me about Ultrum.. it is an analgesic. I was thinking of asking my doctor about it. It seems it was not effective for you. After months of vicadon and others, my doctor switched me to oxycontin which helped, but never fully took away the pain. We are trying to wean off it now, but the pai is so awful. I find that 800 mg of advil helps in conjunction with the oxycontin, or 2 aspirin. When the headaches are so severe that none of the above help, I add fierenol. Sometimes there isn't enough meds to make it all go away! How do you cope?

Guest guest
> I'm on perkoset for my headaches and have been trying different things to see > if they help, the ultram didn't touch it for me > > G Jody I've recently been switched to Methadone for pain control. It has taken 3 weeks, and one dosage increase from twice a day to three times per day, to get the levels in my system. I'm now weaning off the hydrocodone.......I was taking 10 mg tabs 4-5 times daily, but I seemed to have developed a tolerance to it and it wasn't cuttin' the mustard, so to speak. I was reluctant to go on Methadone, the pain doc has been wanting me to switch to it for a couple of months because the hydrocodone wasn't as effective as it was initially, but I really resisted because there is this stigma in my mind, with Methadone, and being associated with Heroin junkies. I've got enough physician-assigned " labels " that heroin addict was not one I wanted added to the list! But I must say, overall, I am much happier with the Meth as it is more of a constant level of pain control, rather than the peaks and valleys I have with any of the other pain meds we've tried. It does take a while to kick in, I'm still having occasional nausea with it, but have Reglan to take 1 hour before Methadone, when I can remember to do that. Which isn't often <grin> I don't get " high " from it, but do have a " drugged sensation " kinda like that feeling you get when you just cant keep your eyes open any more, and am taking more naps, but it does NOTHING for my ever-present insomnia. I'm still nervous about driving with it, but the doc says you adjust and " normalize " after a few weeks. So we'll see how it goes. Anybody else on Methadone?
