Guest guest Posted June 17, 2006 Report Share Posted June 17, 2006 Hi, My rheumy increased my Humira to one shot every week and increased my mtx from 6 tablets to 8 tablets a week. My ankles and hands are still swelling. I have to do this for 6 weeks and then increase the mtx to 10 pills if there is no difference. Since my right ankle is so swollen and sore if the increase doesn't help then I will have an MRI to see if anything else is wrong. The body can and will find a way to outsmart a biologic so you might consider infliximab or abatacept or the " B " cell biologic that the body will have a hard time outsmarting. I have been on Remicade for the longest time and I thought it has stopped working. I wasnt taking MTX with it. After I started though, it worked like a charm, though MTX is not charming. There is no law that states you have to take all the pills at once. I split my dose over two days and take it at night. I also know it dehydrates the heck out of you so be sure to drink alot of crystal lite or water. Gatorade is a life saver for me. I hope you feel better soon.
