I don't exactly understand, either I know they sent a letter to me that said something like, " you are self medicating and we will not be liable for that and will never give you narcotics again. " I don't know the specifics because I was scared to read it and my husband said it was pretty bad. My impression was that it would go into my file and then that would follow me around to other docs. But I'm not sure it ended up in my file. And, luckily, even if it did, he's still giving me pain meds so I hope it's kind of null and void. Yes, they're often reluctant to hand them out. And narcotics don't do much all that much for my ra pain, either. For me, they really do help the peripheral pain, tho; muscle aches, headaches, back stuff, etc. I'm feeling some relief on Lyrica, my finger pain is a bit less, am hoping that it'll get even better as we up the dosage...
