call the doctor who u have an appt with...explain the situation...perhaps he

will see your child earlier...but will the current doctor work with the

famous doctor in terms of treatment...you have a lot of decisions to

make....you might end up having to put him in a hospital near the famous

doc...far away from home...or if your insurance only covers the present

doc....so much to balance and wiegh b

Dear Pam,

We've been wondering how you folks are doing...

As for your current dilemna - " B " said it all - above. That's what I'd do

personally - call the famous doc & see what he or she would suggest & if they

can see your son sooner... If not, he or she may know of another doc who

also treats along the same lines who may be able to see your son sooner

and/or hospitalize / treat him.

Also meant to mention to you that I read an article (Dr. Gott, I believe) in

paper a few months back about " tick paralysis. " My daughter did not

experience this (primarily autonomic problems), but it occurred to me that I

had not mentioned this in my email to you. Have website link on tick

paralysis in Australia & an ANTI-TICK SERUM they use - this is a veterinary

site but, honestly, I have not found much difference in K-9s & humans when it

comes to these diseases. (This site states that they do NOT use antibiotics

- rather the anti-tick serum... Interesting, hu?) If anyone would like

link, just say the word, I'll zap it to you...

Know that we're sending positive, healing thoughts & prayers your way!

Blessings & velcros,

Chris

Dear Pam,

Call Dr. J's office (I hope you meant New Haven) and talk to them. Tell them

the

situation. Might take you immediately as an emergency.

Hi Pam,

I agree with the others...I would call the pediatric LLMD immediately

and tell him what is going on. Hopefully he will see your son

sooner...plead with him if you have to.

Good Luck,

Pam,

why don't you call the specialist in Hartford and inform him of whats going

on and see what he suggests. Its worth a try . If hes anything like my

daughters specialist he'll understand and can probably guide you in the right

direction, or at least be able to get you in to see him sooner when your son

is discharged.

What do you think ?

Good luck to you all

To all:

I am the person who posted about the rapid deterioration of my son

following removal of his picc line about a week ago, to the point where he

virtually cannot walk. His LLMD -who now is treating him with 300 mg trimox

and 250 mg zithromax a day, oral and does not want to increase the dose-

says he should go into the hospital. In general, I would agree. But if I

put him in the hospital now he will NEVER make it up to Hartford to see the

world famous pediatric LLMD we have a long-awaited appointment with.

What should I do --should I follow advice of local llmd and put him in the

local hospital here in Northern Westchester, or should I have this

desperately sick kid hold out to make it up to Hartford to see the second guy?

Thanks, I know this decision is personal, but I look to you with experience

and perhaps some local knowledge to give some input.

Pam
