Guest guest
Good going ! I hope you enjoy the drive. :>) Bev Saw orthopedic doctor yesterday, and he said I am doing just fine. Totally understands how my left knee and the rest of my arthritic body makes it hard to do as much as I'd like. Suggests we do left knee ASAP - so surgery is set for May 29, if all goes well. Am going to attempt to drive my car tonight - just to class (2 miles) and back, then maybe a little more tomorrow.......wanna make sure my reflexes are up to par before I go out of town. Will be real good to get behind the wheel again! Hope everyone is doing well.........
Guest guest
Re: rheumatic dr's visit Good going ! I hope you enjoy the drive. :>) Bev Loved my drive, even though it was only 4 miles round trip! Absolutely no problem - and getting in and out of the car, on a scale of 1 to 10 (pre-op being 10), it about a 3. And, left knee surgery is scheduled for May 29......... Guest guest
ug Connie, That reminds me of my incisions and having to drain them myself wihtout the tube every few hours. I had conveniently forgotten that icky part. The hospital gave me lots of gauze and tape and all the tools I'd need. I had to push on the incision and make it drain, then clean it out with sodium chloride and drain again. I hated that part, but I hated worse having that icky tube in me lol. Just keep draining Connie! Cuz if you don't, you could end back up in the hospital worse off than before. hugs to you alley
Guest guest
Connie.... Glad to hear the doctor thinks the incision looks good, but sorry to hear there's some infection. Keep an eye on that.... And sorry to hear about your cirrhosis. What do red palms have to do with cirrhosis? I remember back in the 60s when I had Hep B...I went to the doctor because the palms of my hands and the bottom of my feet were itching so much so obviously there is some connection but I don't know what it is. Tatezi Dr's Visit ....Dr said it looks good but a little infected but will be fine. ....He also said that he did not need to do biopsy on the Liver it has significant Cirrhosis (sp) visible with the little camera thingy. My biopsy on 4/99 showed no significant Cirrhosis. I am not surprised, I was expecting it. My palms have been red for some time now. __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Hi Connie You've been through so much.....and now this. It's a good thing that you that gallbladder out when you did. I'm sure you'll feel much better now. If it was poisoning you....no wonder you felt so much pain. I hope there is no more pain for you. I know what you mean about the red palms....I've had that for years....way before I even heard of HCV.....I did more than my share of drinking. I'm hoping that is why I have cirrhosis....more from the booze than from the hepC. When I asked the GI doc how much time I had left....he said he couldn't tell me from one biopsy....he doesn't know how fast I'm digressing....which makes sense I guess. Connie, when the GI doc first examined me he was more interested in the rash on my upper chest than the red palms....do you have that? Anyway Connie....baby yourself....take it really easy ok? You are in my prayers. Hugggggggs Carol Constance Dickson wrote: > Well, I just got home from the Dr and he said it looks > good but a little infected but will be fine. Guest guest
Yuuuuuuuuck, ok, hospital greedy here, they gave me nothing, even about that they would drain. Sorry, the nurse a put dressings on and told me they would drain....but, they said leave dressing on till it falls off. They talked like that dressing would stay on till staples came out. Thanks, Connie Now they say the incisions are to moist to keep them dry, how do I do that when they drain? --- <patriciajean@...> wrote: > ug Connie, > > That reminds me of my incisions and having to drain > them myself wihtout the tube every few hours. Guest guest
I have rash but is on my arms. Pain came visiting me about 3 hrs ago, such a letdown. Hopefully it will get less once the poison as Dr called it gets totally out of my system. My belly is now so distended that I can not pinch anywhere to give myself my shot. It is hard as a rock too. I think it felt better when it was draining. Soon as they took staples out and butterflied them with surgical tape there is no where to drain the belly button one stopped too. I don't undrstand why it is so hard unless it is fluid build up. Huggs back at ya, Connie --- Carol <csean@...> wrote: > Hi Connie > > You've been through so much.....and now this. Guest guest
Hi Connie....apparently red palms are a sign of cirrhosis....I've had red palms for as long as I can remember.....other things can cause it too....so it's not necessarily from cirrhosis....that's why the GI doc was more interested in a rash I have on my upper chest....have had that for many years too. All that boozing I did...sheeesh if I'd only known....would I have stopped drinking? Well, I don't drink anymore....that's mostly cuz the hangovers were so vicious....now I know why. I was sooooo stupid, but I'm paying for it now. Call me DUH. Guest guest
Hi Connie, Well, that is pretty bummer news (the cirrhosis), but I agree, not unexpected either with all you have had going on now for some time. Will this news affect your treatment decisions? As for the gallbladder, I would guess that it was very much the cause of the pain you have been having. Hopefully when all the fluid is out and you are healed you will feel MUCH better. I know people who were diagnosed with cirrhosis over 10 years ago and they have spent many years on treatment, often just low dose maintainance interferon, and they are doing great and feeling great too. The low dose interferon seems to keep things from getting worse, even though they don't clear the virus. I know this is depressing news, but hang in there.
