Guest guest
hi , Thanks for your several replies. My doc told me to take 4 ibuprofen three times a day as well for an odd symptom that he said was arthritis in the spine - when I stand for a long time ... such as when cooking or cleaning up after cooking, or even showering and shaving ... much of my outer right leg gets numb, and painful. Bizarre. Anyway, the ibuprofen and the glucosamine aren't doing the trick, so I've begun a search for a rheumatologist. best, Leon >> > I'm 57, I write for a living, and typing has become painful.> > Hi LCS,> > I write for a living, too, altho I haven't been able to do much since I > got RA 5 or 6 months ago. For me, this was a herniated disk, which still keeps me from standing or walking much even though PT has helped the pain. An ortho doc was my ticket to an eventual dx. Good luck
Guest guest
Does dx mean diagnosis? thanks, L. >> >>>when I stand for a> long time ... such as when cooking or cleaning up after cooking, or even> showering and shaving ... much of my outer right leg gets numb, and> painful.> > For me, this was a herniated disk, which still keeps me from standing> or walking much even though PT has helped the pain. Guest guest
Mine is L3-L4. I've always had back issues - when I was a kid they called it lordosis. standing still (in shopping lines) is the absolute worst, and I can't lie on my back with legs straight out for more than minute. best, Leon > > > > >>>when I stand for a > > long time ... such as when cooking or cleaning up after cooking, or even > > showering and shaving ... much of my outer right leg gets numb, and > > painful. > > > > For me, this was a herniated disk, which still keeps me from standing > > or walking much even though PT has helped the pain.
