a,

Those are the exact spots I get my die-off rashes on. And they're tough

rashes too...they feel like they itch from the inside-out as opposed to just

on the skin level. You know? It's a totally normal reaction to the stupid

yeast releasing its toxins as it dies in your system. I recommend using

bentonite clay to adhere to the suckers and wash them out of your system. It

really helps clear up my skin. Also, keep it moisturized because dryness makes

it worse.

About the sore throat thing, I know that I have a chronic cough caused by

Candida. My throat occasionally gets sore, but I never know if it's from

allergies, a cold, or die-off. sorry.

Ali :)

Hi a, Could your rash be from the laundry detergent or fabric softener?

Oregano oil works well on rashes too. You might try not using soap for a while

on the skin too. A rinse with vinegar is soothing. Try clove oil or tee tree

oil too. Let us know about your progress.

Do you really want to know? LOL You name it. Different kinds of

cortisones, zinc oxide, soaking in Pau D arco tea. Tea tree oil. All minds

of stuff off the net and the health food store. You name it I've tried it.

Nothing cures it.

Thanks for your input. It's funny you mentioned Calamine lotion. I used

some last night.

Christy,

Officially, the DR's said nothing, actually they tried to tell me that

it had nothing to do with Lyme (because you don't get rashes, except the

bullseye, with lyme....so they believe) I find this funny because after I

went through treatment last summer/fall these rashes went away. I strongly

believe that my rashes had everything to do with the active lyme at the time.

Dear & Cristy,

We asked docs if they could not do some sort of " skin biopsy " or " scraping "

or something - as small whitish, itchy bumps in irregular patterns would

appear. All - including LLMD - said " not lyme. " I knew in my heart it was

related...

Now that treatment has been ongoing for several months with slow, steady

Dear , Cristy and Chris:

My LLD is certain that rashes that surface during effective Lyme treatment

are the result of the bacteria coming out through the largest filtering organ

-- the SKIN. Whenever they see these types of rashes (can't validate rashes

subject of these posts) they smile and are happy that the treatment is doing

as intended. In these cases RASHES ARE CONSIDERED A GOOD SIGN.

In fact, Doc Weiss noticed 9 round, dark red, welty, roundish bite-like

" things " on the back of the left leg (they were NOT fresh bites). We

rejoiced. " Somethings, happening, somethings happening! " It doesn't take

much to get excited around here...

..

Take care,

Annie

My understanding is that these rashes can take on many appearances/forms --

there is no one type.

A possible old wives tale, I have heard that sometimes Antibiotics bring out

a " shadow " of the original bite(s) that the Lyme patient had unknowingly.

Twilight Zone.... Could someone please comment on this? Thanks.

I got a shadow on my left knee of what I didn't think was a tick bite, though

knew it was a bite -- WHO KNOWS, that could have been the bite that changed

my life. We are self-limiting with the concept of the tick being the only

causation. The Red ID book presents a broader picture of Arthropods.

Sincerely,

Annie

I must have missed the beginning of this one, hope it's not too repetitive

to ask what the rashes looked like? concerned because someone who was

recently bitten by a tick but has had no symptoms except four hive-like

things (three on leg, one on face) come out after 2 weeks of doxy treatment

(200 mg). he's not pursuing matter any further but I wanted to try and

clarify if it could have been lyme-related or a reaction to abx ... htanks,

Dear Annie & All,

AMEN!

Vet pathologists believe (although they are unwilling to say so publicly)

that ANY INSECT THAT BITES FOR BLOOD IS A " VECTOR. " Me too - if wrong, I'd

much rather err on the side of caution & avoid them all & maybe some other

diseases / problems as well...

With babesia, why could a mosquito NOT transmit this - it is very similar to

malaria? (I'm not a doc or nurse & not a scientific type person - just my

" gut " feeling.) Also daughter NEVER had a tick bite or " classic " rash & SURE

IS infected. She did, however, have fly & mosquito bites...

Also, as for the tick having to be " attached " for 36 hrs - NOT TRUE - per

LLMD nurse & others in vet field. Just as with mosquito / malaria situation,

they do not " affix " themselves for extended periods of time... And, if the

tick is the only one to transmit these awful diseases & they must stay

attached to become fully engorged, then how is it that so many have no

knowledge / recollection of a " TICK " bite & still have lyme &

co-infections???? (JMO)

Blessings,

Chris

To Annie and All,

I get the dark red, welty, roundish bite-like " things " also. My

LLMD asked me if I was near any poison ivy, and when I said no, he

smiled....

Hi. Sometimes I have what looks like a butter fly lupus rash on my face and

my doc noticed this and tested me for lupus but it was negative.

I also tend to have this redness on my face when warm and also when I haven't

had any water for a while...drinking water seems to help it go away...for

whatever reason??

Nothing made my rash go away, except for time! it has come up around my

mouth and ears but generally on where i touched. Several Drs thought it was

an allergic reaction, but I never wore makeup, sunscreen etc, and would

happen at different time's, ie'mowing, horseshow, etc. The only tie-in was

the extreme heat. Someone mentioned that this is an Ehrlichia " sand paper "

rash ? Pepi

Dear Annie & All,

Now I'm beginning to wonder...

For over 20 years, when driving - particularly in strong sunlight - a couple

of times a year, I'd get teeny blister-like rash on hands (in sunlight)...

Hmmm....

I get the same rashes.. at first my dr. thought i was allergic to the

rocephin. Not, the rashes are related to lyme. they come and go. my

doc thinks they may be a result of the abx traveling through the

bloodstream and causing a kind of herx reaction, because i can go days

without the rash. and all of a sudden its back and it travels from

place to place. i keep benydryl on hand and also anti itch cream.

Hi Roe,

Could you ask your DR if he thinks they can also be a flare up? My rashes

started before I started abx. Mine was so wierd, it appeared on my face in

several spots and on one arm (it started on the top of my hand, wrapped

around my wrist and went all the way up my arm to my elbow). The rash would

start out as a burning feeling, then I would get a slightly raised area that

was all red. It could last for 30 min. to several hours....I even have

pictures. It wasn't until the 2nd or 3rd mo. that the rash finally started to

go away. Now 7 mo. later and I have started to get a slight rash back on my

face in the identicle place as before. Also, the sunburn I got almost two

weeks ago has peeled and I thought it was turning into a tan, but as my

husband pointed out the other day....that sunburn just doesn't want to go

away. It starts looking tan and then after I take a shower it looks like a

fresh burn all over again and it usually takes all day (or longer) to stop

looking red. I am not abx at this time, so I know I don't have an abx

sensativity. This stupid disease is so frustrating.

dear , I think that flare ups and herx reactions are very much

related in symptoms. in fact, when we herx, all our worst symptoms

appear and when we flare up, its pretty much the same. My doctor is

guessing when he says my rashes are a herx reaction. He cant be sure,

I present a lot of strange symptoms. Sometimes he will relate them to

another patient and other times he cant. I have terrible constipation.

He has never seen that in his other lyme patients. especially while on

antibiotics. Must be the nature of our individual illness. Also have

had 3 urinary tract infections, he tells me a few other female patients

of his has this symptom. As i always tell him, everyday is a new

adventure with lyme. what part of my body will freak out today!

rashes

Hi there

I have just come out in an itchy rash the last two days. Just little

patches in different parts of my body. I am hoping this is related to die

off, as I know of 2 children who took Colloidal Silver, and this rash

appeared also. They both had taken loads of antibiotics in infancy and the

" experts " reckoned this rash was die off due to the Colloidal Silver. Has

anyone else had this?

Yes!

I have a terribly itchy rash. When I had diarrhea and the itchy rash

on Wednesday, I stayed home from work. I was worried I'd be running

to the bathroom all day. Then, of course, I got constipated instead.

<sigh>

Anyway, I have some patches around my body. It's mostly right on my

cheeks in nice ugly splotches so I am embarrassed to walk around

work. I know everyone is wondering what the heck is wrong with me.

I'm trying to hang in there. I wanted to give up all of my

supplements, but I haven't. I keep telling myself it will get better.

I even make postive statements to myself that I will get better soon.

It may sound goofy, but I'll try anything at this point.

As I write this I am home, having called in sick to work yesterday, a

pre-emptive strike for today. I had a very trying day yesterday,

having diarrhea from 5 am onwards and then having to put in a 10 hour day of

hard labour... aiya... I found out we had to move two grand

pianos... and me.. I could hardly lift my arms to unscrew a lightbulb.

I get the impression that my body is going through an extreme de-tox! I m not

going to make any modifications to my diet whatsoever. If

juicing greens causes the runs, so be it.

I totally empathise with you all in regards to the die-off reactions and missing

work, etc. I cannot afford to miss one day at work, but

here I am. For me, I can see my skin improve dramatically every day, so I know I

am getting better. It's the encouragement I need. I feel

for you guys who get ill but can't 'see' any changes, but don't worry: they'll

come!

The most important things I have done:

1. a series of hydro-colonic/massage sessions, 3 so far

2. the daily psyllium/bentonite/Caproil/water combination

3. making fresh juice daily: lots of greens!

4. cutting out ALL sugars, grains, fruits, etc.

I know some of you can get away with some, but I sure can't seem to pull it off.

Keep up the good work!!

The rewards will all come to you in time :)

Thanks for your good thoughts!

Yesterday, I drank about 80oz of water because I was so anxious to

get rid of all the junk in my body. Well, I woke up today with a very

swollen face. Not sure if it's connected or not. I drank some

cabbage/celery juice and pau darco to help get rid of some of the

edema. The swelling is better now.

After I took a nap this morning, the redness got better, but it seems

to get worse when I move around and stir up my circulation.

I also did a lot of deep breathing to oxygenate my blood --and took

plenty of yellow dock to " eat up " the bad stuff.

What a day. I'm sorta need to make up my sick days this weekend.

Bleh! At least no one will be around. The hard part of this is

looking so darned awful.

Peace,

D

Thanks Tom:

Listening to all of you guys there is hope for me after all. I just started a job at a Mitsubishi dealer in Shelton CT it no wallstreet but it'll do for know at least no pressure and fantastic schedule, no more 2and a half hour commute for me no more floor pressure and best of all I don't hang around the house with two fingers on my pulse all the time. at least it keeps me busy for know and hopefully will start making some money as a car salesman. by the way I am not trying to use this wonderful support group as an advertisement because I believe I am the only one in Connecticut so far. anyway thanks for everybody's support

Rashes

Hi There Turk,Sorry, I cannot help you with your questions regarding Lupus and rashes. I take so many different types of meds that I wouldn't know what causes what problem. Without a doubt, I have a lot of muscle weakness which I attribute to the 80 mg of Lipitor I take everyday. I also take coumadin, digoxin, zestril and amiodarone; and my most unfavorite, Lasix.I am not ashamed to say that my nerves were shot from having the implant in 1997 and having it fire for me. I have been on a medicine called "Paxil". In my case, it has mellowed me out and I sleep well at night. I don't get uptight about things like I used to. Paxil is a multi purpose med, often used for anxiety attacks or just plain depression, and it is not addictive. And, like you, I take lorazapam each evening before going to bed (just 1)...........and if I am having a tough day for whatever reason, I take one during the day.I believe that most folks with an ICD have to deal with many emotional and physical changes in their lives and I believe that we should ask our doctors for help in the areas we feel we need it.Take care,Tom in PAPlease visit the Zapper homepage athttp://www.ZapLife.org
