Guest guest
How much colostrum were your friends taking?!!! I think its great. It keeps me from catching every little bug that I come across .But I do take breaks from constant use. When my son was born he came 10 weeks early and was rather sickly . He did catch everything and was very sick and scrawny.the last major thing he had was a cough that made him throw everything up when he was about 2. I really thought he might not survive I started giving him colostrum in his applesauce . the bug cleared up and he wasnt sick again to endanger his life.I think it saved his life, I get my colostrum bulk from Excellentthings.com Her bulk price is great. I've found people who add things like that to my program don't do better, so it's a waste of money and effort. Mainly " proper nutrients " (they all work together) is what builds up the immune system which take time and patience. Guest guest
Very interesting about the colostrum. I am interested for my long suffering mother (mites too) I think it might help my poor body recover too. I know you have posted about it before, but would you mind posting where you bought it and what brand again please? > > Hi Holly, > > I read Ray's protocal a while back and this, plus the one posted on Shannspirations helped me to develop a plan for us in the beginning. In reading this again, I realized that I'd forgotton to mention in my list of things that I posted was that I began taking Colostrum about a month before we began to enter this bug-free calm we've had recently, and I was reminded how important it is to work on the immune system. Fighting these things for so long can certainly put a drain on the body's defenses, and I believe the Colostrum has been an important part of our recent trend in knocking them down. > > I'm so sorry to hear of your mishaps during the move - you are under so much stress right now, I can't imagine how you're coping with the move AND trying to make sure the home is bug-free for the people moving in! Sometimes the Permethrin Cream seemed to make the mites mad and they bite worse but eventually they died. We were able to use the permethrin cream to get the mites off of my 5 and 6 year old children and luckily for us my mother was able to watch them and take them to school and pick them up from school for about 3-4 months while we worked at removing the mites from the house. We had the invisible mites for over 9 months in total. Every affected person you can remove from your environment is one less host for these things. Do not try to use the Permethrin Cream more often than perscribed. Guest guest
Weston A Price has an article on how to cook with it. http://www.westonaprice.org/foodfeatures/colostrum.htmlI use it when one of us is sick...it's high in immunoglobulins.I just add it half to milk. I've never noticed it having a strong taste...to me it tastes like watered down milk. If you don't want to consume it, you can make soap with it, use it in your bath water, as a face wash, etc... Please tell me about colostrum (specifically raw cow colostrum)..... what are the health benefits of using it, how do you use it? I have over 3 gallons of it in my fridge, plus half gallon of yogurt made from it. It is strong tasting, so we are unwilling to drink it as is. I put some in my husband's smoothie last night, but had to mask the taste with lots of fruit and some honey and vanilla. That was about 8 oz. of it, now to figure out what to do with the other 448 oz.! I know some people pay high prices for it in a bottle. Thanks! Guest guest
If you let the calf nurse you are more likely to have difficulty with getting him to take a bottle after a few days. He will get all the colostrum he needs if you feed it to him. You will have a much easier time starting him right off on a bottle. At the first milking of a fresh cow I take only a gallon of colostrum and I give all of it to the calf over a 12 hour period. Then at the next milking I take most but not all of the milk and then at the third I milk as usual. If you take all of it at the first milking you can but the cow into a milk fever state more easily. It is more natural this way. You don't usually have this problem with a first freshener but I still like to do it this way. More questions... Our cow is about to calve (hopefully sooner than later!). This is our first time as well as hers. I've been told stories about milking a cow for the colostrum and then the cow dies. We plan on letting the calf be with her for the first 2-3 days and then separating them. We want the calf to get all the colostrum it can. We weren't planning on milking her until the 3rd day. Is that reasonable? How do you tell when the colostrum is gone and the milk has come in? Thanks! Sincerely, Dona
Guest guest
If you let the calf nurse you are more likely to have difficulty with getting him to take a bottle after a few days. He will get all the colostrum he needs if you feed it to him. You will have a much easier time starting him right off on a bottle. Guest guest
Colosstrum has been one of our best supplements. We use Kirkman, but only few drops every day, so one bottle lasts for ages. I fill some off into small dropper bottle and keep rest in freezer.
