Guest guest
I agree, , I don't think there's anything wrong with being open-minded, but I do think there's something wrong with promising people "cures," and remissions with unproven, unapproved, and untested methods. It's the idea of holding out false hope to people who will grasp at anything, not to mention the actual monetary outlay to use those things. Anything that makes you feel better is worth doing, but I don't think we should discount the "mind over matter" effect of herbal remedies. I also think that looking for relief when you are unwilling to do the things that we *know* will help, i.e. losing weight, exercising, eating healthy, is the typical "quick and easy" way of thinking. If you aren't willing to help yourself in those ways, you aren't going to find it by pumping yourself full of natural remedies. Right now, I challenge anyone to lose 30 lbs, start walking regularly, and drop the junk out of their diet. and then tell me that they *don't* feel much better and that their symptoms don't seem as severe. It's not a cure, but it can sure make you feel as though you're making some progress towards good health. And it doesn't cost you anything. ----- Original Message ----- From: R. Peek Rheumatoid Arthritis Sent: Saturday, January 21, 2006 1:30 PM Subject: slamming natural remedies I think we can ALL agree that RA is different than OA or many other health issues and, in most all cases, is made worse by failing to work with a rheumatologist and traditional meds. I personally don't believe in a "natural CURE" for RA and have no intention of giving up on traditional medicine, but I don't think there is anything wrong with being open-minded aobut the natural world around us for relief as well.
