Guest guest
Hi Jen, I was advised by my Maternal/Fetal medicine specialist to stay on the Humira while pregnant, as an RA flare can cause a miscarriage. Humira is in Category B, which means although there is little or no testing on humans, it has been tested on animals at very high doses with no ill effects. I am almost 10 weeks pregnant. Every day I pray for everyone here to find something that works for their RA and I also pray a special prayer for all the women here trying to conceive! > > Hi all > I just had my first visit here in Port st lucie FL to the rheumy > today. Guest guest
I am glad Dr. worked out for you -- I really like her and everyone else in the office. I don't know any pulminologists or fertility specialists in the area but if I hear of one I will let you know FYI -- I have tried plaquenil in the past and had moderate results. I had to get certain eye tests regularly while on it, but no bad side effects. pr_jem <pr_jem@...> wrote: Hi allI just had my first visit here in Port st lucie FL to the rheumy today. Guest guest
Hi , Thank u so much for the kind words. I have not been taking anything the last year. i have experienced plenty of flare up ; disfigurement and pain. I had this fear of taking anything that would perhaps affect my possibilities of conceiving. Pls continue to pray that special prayer Gracias > > Hi Jen, > > I was advised by my Maternal/Fetal medicine specialist to stay on the Humira > while pregnant, as an RA flare can cause a miscarriage. Guest guest
Hi Andy Sorry for the delay in response. I agree the people in Dr office are very nice. I like Dr a lot. she is opened minded and very nice. I started plaquenil on Friday. We will see how it works. i understand that it will take at least 3 months b/4 I can see any changes. She did say i had to get an I exam every 6 months. The x-ray did not show any serious degeneration; however, the amount of rheumatic nodules and deformities will not go away. She was surprised b/c I had not treated the RA with anything in a year and she expected to see more damage. Although X-ray will only tell about the surface and not the actual joint. The blood work did show that my sed rate went up. It appears to me that Plaquenil is the least riskiest for someone who is trying to conceive. How long were you on Plaquenil? Did it just stop working u? I have been refered toa pulmonary specialist and will see him next month. I have also seen a obgyn. Thank u for everything God Bless > Hi all > I just had my first visit here in Port st lucie FL to the rheumy > today. It went very good.
