Guest guest
I have an answer you might not like. My sister got "rashes" when she was taking care of my Mom before she died. The rash turned out to be a cold sore caused by stress. It took several doctors before it was diagnosised. The cold sore would start out on her checks or side of nose. Her doctors recommended trying to unstress and all kinds of prescription cold sore meds. She could relieve the symptoms but not totally cure it. The cold sore finally cleared up after Mom died. I recommend that you find someone else to chair the schools dinner and auction. It's okay not to do everything at school. I participate in my kids field trips and let the teachers know if they need something for the class send me a note. You can still attend PTO functions and participate at a less intense level. My daughters birthday was Saturday, the day I was sure the rash was coming back and by lastnight it was as worse as it's been. I took 2 benedryl lastnight before bed just to see if it was any better by morning, thinking that would be a sign of maybe an allergy instead but I think it's about the same this morning, maybe just a pinch better.I have also realized that my "rash" was at it's worst this same time last year and has been again this year (during the fall/winter); and it's during this same time that I chair a dinner & auction event for my childrens school. It's a huge responsibility and keeps me busy everyday. I realized that last year around time to start working on the auction was the time I started having this problem and sure enough this year, same timing. Coincidence I'm sure but I did realize that. Guest guest
Are you on methotrexate? This can cause mouth sores. Mentioned it to my dr and she said nothing about it concerned her so I kinda just let it go. I also mentioned it to my sister and she said she felt I must be carrying some kind of virus but who knows. I wonder if those can be brought on by stress as well; if so my odds may be leaning that way. It's hard to "let go" of responsibilities for me. I'm a stay at home mom of 2 kids aged 8 & 6, both of whom are now in school all day and helping out at the school, almost daily with this or that, has become my life so to speak. It's just what I do now. I'm in charge of alot of different things, the auction being the most important and carries the most responsibility since it involves thousands of dollars. I think I'm kind of an arogant controlling person at times with things like that. I tend to take on ALOT because I just feel it's easier for me to do it so it gets done correctly and on time. I have a hard time relying on others to do something for me.I made a new apt with my rheumy for tomorrow morning. I'm going without makeup (eww) and am hoping I can get some useful information from her tomorrow. Thanks for your reply-> >> > > > Hi , how is your stress level each time you break out with > this rash.> > Certainly stress can cause rashes as easily as an intollerance to > any food> > or drug. Guest guest
perhaps it is a food allergy? have you tried keeping a journal of everything you eat? have you ruled out any vitamin tablets? gentle hugs! Marciai_live_in_slippers <bart.tracy@...> wrote: I saw the dr. yesterday and she said she's pretty positive that this rash I'm dealing with is in no way related to my arthritis. She said it doesn't resemble anything alarming to her, condition wise, that I should keep my apt with my dermatologist, which I am.So frustrating. I can't figure out if it's not related to arthritis at all, why I developed it at the same time. I've been dealing with this rash on my face on & off since I was diagnosed, almost 2 years, never before. I guess I'm going to explore the stress theory in more detail. Thanks for hearing me vent> > >> > > > > > Hi , how is your stress level each time you break out with > > this rash.> > > Certainly stress can cause rashes as easily as an intollerance > to > > any food> > > or drug.
