I started this yesterday at a very low dose. Did any of you have

bleeding as a side effect? I spotted all day yesterday.

They also started me on a high dose of Prednisone for 12 days and I'm

not sure which one caused the problem. I'm not due to start til late

next week.

Thanks,

Stacey

Hi Stacey,

I've never connected the Methotrexate to my cycle problems before since

I assumed I was starting menopause. My cycles have gone to every three

weeks from a constant 28 days. I've been on the Methotrexate and

plaquenil since July. My rheumy knows my flares are related to my

cycles too and she never said anything about a possible drug

connection.I just don't think many tests are done to understand the

hormone rolls in women's health.

This is going to make me sound really stupid, but when I spotted I thought it was just my age and the fact I suspect I'm premenopausal. I've even thought about speaking to a GYN. I had someplace to go a couple of weeks ago and in the hour it took me to get there...well just say I had an embarrassing situation. I never thought of Methotrexate being the culprit. I'll have to ask my doctor about that. I don't remember spotting being a side effect.
