I would suggest to you that homeopathic treatment at the time of the illness that starts all this off could nip this in the bud & it would never develop. I would also think that VERY POSSIBLY antibiotic use and/or ues of tylenol etc will contribute to this, but you will NEVER see research into this. And also on top of heavily vaccinated. But since we can't treat with antibiotics in this universe & go into parallel universe and use homeopathy we will never know what would happen to an individual It is similar to what we called Sydenham's Chorea or St. Vitus Dance which came after strep infections BUT BEWARE - Sometimes new things are named something new or invented when new research money is wanted. I DO KNOW that strep infections are causing problems especially in autistic children who have a lot of immune problems and therefore these things are becoming more evident. Always ask, WHY NOW? Now, many of us have had strep throat as kids, but I don't every remember anyone getting any kind of neurological effects like Tourettes syndrome after this illness. When you look at the new strains of bacteria that are popping up since the polysaccharide vaccines came into play, (admitted in the latest study on Prevnar) then you have to think this so called new named disease didn't just pop up. PANDAS is strep gone wild from metals toxicity, I don't like the idea of using another name " PANDAS " to describe metals poisoning. We have not started chelation yet, but I was about to until this " PANDAS " issue arose for us. We have been testing for a year and a half and his last bloodwork showed elevated ASO and DNASE-B titers. When you reach a comfortable dosage where you can do rounds and kind of know what to expect, then I would introduce Olive Leaf Extract and see how that works out. I wouldn't use antibiotics unless I absolutely had to and had chelated for over a year. What people don't realize is that when you have an environment for bacterial overgrowth, antibiotics are not going to be effective. Toxic metals cause things like magnesium wasting and displaced iron and calcium. High levels of these minerals (which feed bacteria) in the wrong places along with a weak immune system make the environment ripe for chronic infection. Chelation alone takes care of a lot of the problems because the minerals, if they are available, can go back to normal levels (strengthening the immune system and getting rid of the pathogenic " food " ). Make sure your child is taking zinc, potassium, and magnesium. This is what I do, feel free to copy or just use as a reference: I give a Cal-Mag-Vit D powder + amla powder + young coconut kefir (probiotics) in smoothies, epsom salt baths, and magnesium malate regularly. In chelator capsules, I use an antioxidant combo (1/2 amla powder, 1/2 Ascorbate Bio-C powder), biotin, milk thistle, and glycine. Every day I give Megafoods Vit B Complex, Megafoods Vit E/Selenium, Carlson Vit A 10000 IU, NOW liquid Vit D 800 IU, milk thistle, grapeseed extract + choline, potassium, and Kornax liquid ionic zinc (tasteless, can add to water). I give more of the B and E/Sel complexes on chelation days and also add Candidaise or Candex (given on empty stomach with night dose) and Kyodophilus probiotics after meals. I continue these about three days after chelation. When we first started, my kids both needed lithium orotate. I gave small doses of this (1/3 cap Relentless Improvement brand) until they were no longer having major ups/downs/tantrums. I have used it once since then. They also needed choline/inositol to help with OCD after rounds. PANDAS is still a huge struggle/hurdle for us. The immune system needs to be dealt with as well. Chelation took care of NONE of the problems of PANDAS for us so be sure not to put all your eggs in one basket and expect chelation to fix PANDAS. Antibiotics have done wonders for some kids, but did nothing for my son either. With PANDAS the problem is the body " thinks " the brain is a strep infection and the immune system attacks it. Chelation is not going to stop that and correct the immune system. Guest guest Posted June 4, 2010 Report Share Posted June 4, 2010 I personally think (and hope) that when a person with elevated levels of mercury gets it out of their body, it must help the body be able to regulate the immune system and begin to heal.  My son developed PANDAS symptoms about a year after beginning chelation, he's been OK for close to a year (no PANDAS) and now I believe it's coming back -- waiting for labs to confirm. We've stepped up chelation the past several months to every week and added ALA along with the DMSA. I wonder if while the mercury is being removed if that suppresses the immune system (or makes it act funny) or if the mercury could be possibly attached to strep and it brings it out into your system.  Just some ideas.... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

We also had PANDAS, chelated and used low dose Zithromax, we no longer have it. I did the chelation, but saw no possitive results. Any suggestions? What would be tried for inflammantion and a strep virus, that caused this?
