Tingling and numbness sound like nerve

problems to me. As RA causes swelling this can press on a nerve to cause

that kind of problem. I would expect the problem to be active RA rather

than a side effect of medicine. I think the problem could be in the

ankle, knee, or hip or perhaps even the spine. A neurologist could do a nerve

conduction study to see if this is the problem. Of course, if you have

changed medications recently this could be a weird side effect but I suspect

active RA instead. You should be seeing a rheumatologist, and you might also

consider a second opinion. God bless.

Ok gang, I have questions.

I've been on Arava and Enbrel, and I've developed tingling and numbness

in my feet. They said it could be the Arava or the Enbrel or both. Has anyone

had this happen? My doc had me go off the Arava and Enbrel and I'm just on

Voltaren now, and I've been feeling worse every day. I've also not noticed any

improvement in my feet. Has anyone here experienced this? I am thinking that

I'll put up with the foot issues to get my arthritis back to doing better....

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks Harold. I did see a neuro for nerve conduction studies and they were inconclusive. I also do see a rheumatologist. I"ll have to research more about the active RA causing this. It started in the right foot and then it went to my left foot. Its about equal both sides. My internist also checked thyroid, folate levels, chemistry (including blood sugar) so we've pretty much ruled everything else out. The neuro thought it might be tarsal tunnel syndrome and the rheumy thinks its meds.
