Guest guest
Issadora, glad you decided to follow-up with your PCP; any chance he can/will push for you to get in with the cardiologist sooner? It still seems unconscionable to me that there is such a time lag and the ER drs cannot get the referrals pushed through, especially for things concerning the heart. I'm glad the ibuprofen is giving you some relief and I hope you see the cardiologist very soon - any date yet? I'm sorry you are having the added stress from worry and pray you have all the answers and treatment very soon. Please keep us up to date. & From: Issadora <FlyfreeIzzie@...> Subject: Heart Update To: Date: Saturday, January 17, 2009, 7:12 AM Hello Everyone- I just wanted to send a quick update. After the ER visit of last week, I was told to follow up without fail to my PCP and i wasn't going to at first due to is usual lameness but changed my mind given chest symptoms. I went yesterday and had a repeat EKG and this time he wrote down the issue that keeps showing up. It's called Q-T interval prolongation. ... It might be associated with a medication that I take to help me with sleep even though its a very very rare side effect associated with way higher doses of drugs related to this one but it still could be the cause. It's not directly associated but distantly... (figures!) My PCP is not sure about the pericarditis either but says i should stay on the ibuprofen for now until i see the cardiologist for further investigation. They took yet more blood to check my calcium, metabolic and something else because apparently something involving the ion channels and calcium has to be ruled out as the cause of Q-T interval prolongation as well. I'm still getting some chest pain episodes at times but the iburprofen is helping quite a bit. Honestly, I'm more emotionally upset about this latest health curve ball than anything else. I feel quite broken. Thanks for your concern. Issadora -- " How exactly does one become a butterfly? You must want to fly so badly that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.
