My perspiration smells more on Iodine. It is a detox thing. How long? Depends on how toxic you are.

Hi,

I had to laugh when I read your post because I posted the same sort of question about a year ago. When I first started taking the Lugol's, I started with much more than the dose you're taking, and all I could smell was iodine...like it was oozing out of my pores wafting the atmosphere. You may be right about toxins coming out through the skin as well.

If it's any consolation, the smell of Iodine went away after a short while and I no longer walked around smelling like a medicine cabinet.

I just thought of something else. The iodine nurtures the thyroid and the sense of smell returns after being subdued from hypothyroidism. Your sense of smell may just be returning; I remember that also.

Odor in my opinion is a sign of the body detoxifying itself. This is why we

sweat and why we need to sweat. The odor is the smell of the bad things

coming out.

This is why it is illogical in my opinion to try to prevent sweating

(antiperspirants). You can combat the odor with an all natural deodorant.

We get ours at Whole Foods. As far as things to absorb moisture, You could

use any safe flour such. Do not use Talc.

Whole Foods sells an all natural body powder, as well. My grandmother only

used corn starch. You could add some natural oils for fragrance, I would

imagine. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable could suggest some.

Get Young Living essential oils (frankincense/lavender/rose) smell delicious,

all natural (so natural one can drink them) and an antibacterial (thyme,

rosemary, pine) mix in a carrier oil like emu or olive oil, apply to armpits,

feet, etc. No bad smells, all the benefits. Google for a distributor near to

you.

My son had that dog dander smell & it was rectified with diflucan, nystatin and

no grain diet.

I just dealt with this issue recently with my 4 yr old son. We've been chelating

for several months when he developed this " wet dog " odor. I discussed it with my

homeopath. Turns out this odor is associated with bismuth, which was also high

on his hair test. Treated it with homeopathic bismuth and it went away.

I have been wondering the same thing. If it is some kind of detox odor. It is

bad. My son is 18. We haven't been doing biomed very long at all, but he smells

awful. He takes baths often, but within 2 hours the smell is back. Even when he

baths in lavender bubble bath. It use to be when he didn't have daily bms, but

that's not the case any more since he takes a good bit of vit. c and magnesium.

We had sky high Bismuth but never noticed any wet dog smell. Also not

recommended to use any homeopathic remedy involved with metal detox.

I have not experienced this personally, but I do remember reading once that

someone used the exact words " he smelled like wet dog " and it was linked to

yeast. If this is the case, you can consider using a shampoo specifically

designed for scalp fungus. They are usually herbal and have a strong smell that

may at least mask the wet dog smell until it's gone. And, of course, treat the

yeast internally as well. Our skin is a great indicator of what's going on

inside the body!

Might be the way yeast reacts with individual biochemistry. We had yeast so bad

at one point that I opened the door to her very large bedroom in he morning and

the whole room smelled of yeast, but it smelled like yeast, not wet dog.

You rub it under arms. I've been using this for a couple years and will Never go

back to store-bought chemical deodorants. It works Very well, dries pretty fast,

does not stain clothes, is Lots healthier, you don't need much per use and it's

cheap. Generic M.O.M. is fine to use.

has also admitting to not using deodorant...and she doesn't smell.

The people that have lots of body odor really need to detox the chemicals and

toxins out of their body. It's the excretory systems trying to throw out the

toxins thru the skin, lungs, lymphatic system, urinary and bowels. After you

detox the chemicals...and stop putting them onto and into your body, you won't

need deodorant either.

I'm curious Al why you feel it is harmful/dangerous?

The generic stuff I use is Magnesium hydroxide and does not appear to contain

aluminum. I looked at several different MSDS and other than being a little high

on the alkaline chart I can't see any real negative reasons not to use it.

I will say this much, compared to the alternatives M.O.M. seems less harmful

that most commercial deodorants.
