Guest guest
Hello All, I've been seeing very good results at 1.5mg nightly, which I started about 3 weeks ago to treat my CFS and Fibro and in particular my brain fog. I've had mostly positive effects, including decreased pain and stiffness and increased flexibility and range of motion. I'm also sleeping better, including having dreams again, which although they are not always positive dreams I consider a positive effect. My brain fog has improved, but is still my main complaint. I definitely had some difficulty with latent viruses or candida and have had side effects of hot flashes and increased allergies. But my main complaint is a slight increase in both anxiety and depression. I'm not so worried about the anxiety as I have constructed a life that has little of it. The depression is of the low-grade variety and feels more like a general apathy or listlessness. I've suffered from severe depression before so I know the difference. This is more of a chronic feeling, like even though my energy and brain fog and pain are improved I don't have any desire to do anything. It's a strange feeling, because it has been the opposite for so long. The desire was there but the body and mind were at odds with that desire. My question is, has anyone discovered any supplement, drug, or herb or anything that can help with this depression and not interfere with LDN? I've had good results with Lamitcal and St. 's Wort (separately) in the past, but I prefer not to use prescription drugs as my reaction is usually terrible. Also, I'm allergic to fish so fish oil is not a possibility for me and only makes me feel worse. Thanks everyone, I love this place and I love LDN. I hope someone can help. Guest guest
DL-Phenylalanine is suppose to help boost endorphin levels when on LDN. It is a nutritional treatment for depression even without LDN. There are actually quite a few nutrients that help alleviate depression. There is a free eBook at http://www.thewayup.com/ that details a whole program. If you have high BP or are on MAO inhibitors you are not suppoes to tak DLPA. http://www.orthomed.org/resources/resources.html is an extensive page of resources on the nutritional approach to brain and mood balancing. Along the line of this program a 50/50 mixture of two readily available blends of amino acids, along with added tryptophan, carnitine, phosphatidyl choline, and vitamins B complex and C, are used to balance brain chemistry and alleviate depression. Specifically, the two blends of amino acids are Pure Form 20 and WAC blend from www.jomarlabs.com .. Some use tryptophan, tyrosine, and phenylalanine to effect mood change. www.bulknutrition.com is a good place to buy the AAs in bulk to keep cost down. For a Fish Oil substitute consider Walnut Oil. It is very high in Omega 3 and is simply delicious on salads. Walnuts are also high in Omega 3. Actually broccoli and all forms of greens are also good sources.
