Reid, I get those lumps all the time. So far, they've always gone away.

They're very painful, like huge pimples, and I sort of treat them like that.

I try to put hot compresses on them and them squeeze them a little. They

start to go down gradually that way. I've even had them where they turn black

and blue. If they don't start to go down, though, you should have them

checked out.

One more note on the underarm lumps. I had a similar lump on my left rib

cage. It was there for years and the doctor said it was just a fatty tumor

and not dangerous. But it was sticking out and sometimes itched, so I finally

decided to have it removed. The doctor who removed it was giving me the same

fatty tumor line as he numbed the area, but was very surprised to find that

it was quite hard and when he took it out, was full of blood. I asked to look

at it and it was pretty disgusting. Lab results all came back normal, but

I've been wondering lately if any tests would have been done that turned up

spirochetes. Anybody think it's worth my calling him back to see the lab

reports? I had it removed last March.

Testosterone injections? Oh my. With 3 brothers (no sisters) and 4 sons (no

daughters), I get testosterone by osmosis. If the toilet seat is ever down

around here, I get suspicious!!!

If I have to have surgery to remove the herniated disc that is flattening

my spinal cord, can they test the removed disc to check for presence of

spirochetes?

What test(s) would I request? I think that this could help determine if the

Lyme bacteria are playing a role in my degenerative disc disease... BTW: I

have never had neck problems before my symptoms appeared this past spring.

Reid,

My first one was biopsied and came back " reactive Lymph node " . I was

worried, reactive to What? They said it was no big deal. The second two

under the other arm, " Don't worry, just swollen lymph's " . I feel them under

my neck too, but more like swollen glands then lumps like the others. But do

definitely get them checked, because as you hear all the time, and its

always worth repeating, We all react different to this disease. Good Luck

Reid: When was bitten it was on his right rear shoulder. He

immediately got lumps under his arms in the lymph glands. When we went for

such a long time not knowing if he was infected with Lyme, we were quite

worried about them. The Dr. told us that this was normal as the lymph

glands fight off the infection and when it is being overwhelmed with

infection the glands will start swelling. Just thought this information

would hopefully put you at ease. However, I do still recommend getting it

I have one big one under my arm and near my salivary gland right now. Given

that I had them 28 days ago and they slowly went down, I'm assuming they're

signs of herx. My understanding if that is they go down and they're tender,

not to be concerned, but if they're solid and don't go away they should be

checked. But, me too, I ain't no doc.

Reid..i get them all the time..especially when my fever is up...one nurse

scared me thinking I had lymphoma but they come and go...it is commom with

CFIDS....yet another lyme cooincidence...hope you are feeling better... Kriss

I had swelling of lymp nodes on left side only under arm.

But at same time had a lot of chest wall and rib pain. Was

not treated, given mamogram, told to wear a bra, and offered

testosterone injections, this was back in 85. They haven't

come much father then where they were at then unless you're

seeing a LLMD. I did decline thos injections, my voice was

already deep enough! Ha, Ha, -

My last one that was removed was last December, and I just found out I had

Lyme,and wasn't aware of what my ordeal was going to be. , I was

thinking the same thing, have them look for the chetes, but I used to work

at a lab, and they don't keep things around any longer than a week, maybe

two, depending on who is cleaning up and how busy they are. I have two other

ones, that aren't going away, if I decide to check with my surgeon again,

I'll definitely request it. She told me they were probably the same (from

the sonogram) as the last one that was just a reactive lymph node, but if it

bothered me come back and see her and she'll remove them. Might have to do

that, just out of curiosity.

set up to do that kind of is it pathology, guess they

really don't want to know anymore about LD than

they have to and by not have facilities to do that

I issued death threat's around home the last time

morning and I have no doubt that surgery is indicated... Will hear from my

I used to get these when I was herxing, swollen Lymph nodes as my body

was fighting like crazy way back then. Did you recently start abx??? If

not write your doctor friend and ask his advice,

my youngest had something similar...but instead of just a lump as you

described to us...the area was also very reddened...and swollen more towards

the surface of the skin

I opened and drained it (small area)...washed the heck with plain soap and

water...all better....b

Remember the article I sent out about yeast " The Candida Yeast Answer " ? I

sent away for what is supposed to be answers on how to fight this yeast we

all suffer. Haven't received it yet, and wondered if I forgot to really send

out my request. So I did again. Hopefully it will provide some better

answers, As soon as I get it, I'll share the information. I agree with you

Lovey, it could be yeast just clogging up all our glands, etc. Then again,

it could be the chetes!

Reid, the dermatologist took a skin tissue biopsy of my " growths " under

my arms and sent it away to some lab somewhere (in FL I think). It came

back " age spots " , my eye! The derm dr said the lab didnt know what it was

doing! and gave me 3 different creams with time limits per cream. It

helped but didnt cure. That was before I knew I had lyme disease. My

newest derm dr has given me Nizoral cream which is helping but is slow

acting I guess. My Physical Therapist said at the time that it was

clogged sweat glands. I think they ARE clogged because I do not perspire

under my arms anymore, but it may just be candidia. I think I am going

to go for herbal remedies for candidia. Nystatin just isnt taking care

I agree with your physical therapist. I've had deep muscle

work performed by massage therapist to help rid my body

of toxins and waste along with drinking lots and lots of water

and it does make a difference. I'd always gone to women

and ended up sore until I started seeing massage therapist

in my neighborhood. He is a big guy and because he's so

aware he can hurt me can massage without so much strength

as simple deep massage, where I believe women (not all) tend

to try to make up for what they lack due to muscle differences

in strength by using more force, thus the reason I was always

sore for 24 hours after a massage. I am rarely sore anymore

and if I am, it's only for a short time, not 24 hours. I was

very lucky to find this out about how I react to the massage

therapists. The deep muscle work doesn't relieve pain and

or restriction long but it does help my body to rid itself of

wastes.
