Guest guest
Good deal. It's very dangerous for a hcv victim to become co-infected with either hav or hbv, sometimes fatal. So it's very important to get those vaccinations. I believe I was co-infected with hav and hcv. Though at the time they did not recognize hcv. Good luck in your continuing battle!! -dz-DUG853@... wrote: Just thought I'd let all know that my insurance company has approved areferral for the Hep A and B vaccine series ! YAY ! LOLI never thought that I'd get 'excited' about getting (MORE) 'shots' !LMAO :-) My Prmary Care Provider will call me when they receive the first of theseries and do the injection/s there at the office.I'm VERY glad that I found this group !I've learned a LOT here, and that has really helped me toask-the-right-questions of my health-providers in order to receivebetter (adequate) care.'Some' of my doctors are getting an 'education' about these issues fromthe info that I'm getting through this group too.Hopefully, that will also give them some more tools to use with any oftheir other patients with Hep C as well !Thanks again ALL ! ! ! I never thought that I might have contracted HCV at the same time. Luckily, I've had the Hep B vaccinations through work and I'm immune now. I didn't even know they had a shot for Hep A. I wonder if I need to get it?? You guys are great. Thanks again for all the great info and support. It really helps a lot. Barbara
Guest guest
It's a preventive measure that I'd chosen to 'push' with my doctor/s,... I actually 'had-to' mention it to THEM ! Gotta be 'pro-active' with ones health-providers,ask questions,.. press a little-bit, etc. Instead of askng them: " Do You think I should get/have (whatever) " ,.... I try to ask the question/s in a way so that they answer in a more 'risk-oriented' manner: " Do You think it'd be worse if,....(whatever) " I'll know more after the vaccine-series starts, I'll ask them for the 'circular' that comes with the vaccine, and let Y'all know if there's any interesting info in it. > < I believe I was co-infected with hav and hcv. Guest guest
If you've had hep A, you won't need the vaccination. I didn't. I just took the hep B one. -dz-Barbara <vynca_minor@...> wrote: < I believe I was co-infected with hav and hcv. Though at the time they did not recognize hcv.
