Sorry to hear they had a go at you last night. Mybe you'll be able to get rid of them in the autumn when the weather gets cooler; you'll be able to get more Dutchys, to go after the biting mites. Presumably the Dutchys will breed & put an end to the biting mites. All the bestKrys

Hi Krys,I tried the Valerian last night and I slept all the way through the night, so thank you!!! The mind turned off more quickly than usual too. Bravo! From: "Krys Brennand" <krys109uk@...>bird mites Sent: Tuesday, June 28, 2011 11:31:39 AMSubject: Re: I'm still here

Hi ,Have you tried valerian root? In small doses it is calming, in larger doses will help one to sleep. I use it when I'm worried. My youngest son, 14, flew for the first time unaccompanied to UK via Keflavik (nice airport) yesterday & the flight out to Keflaik was late so I started worrying about whether he might miss the flight on to London & what I would do if he got stuck in Keflavik. For that kind of nagging worry I find valerian root helps me to sleep.

So sorry about the sleep too. I have a bad sleep disorder pre-existing mites and Morgellons and it is always off and on for me. Can you take something for the sleep problem? When I worked a 40 hr a week job not that long ago the sleep problem really stressed me out because I did not know how I would be able to function that next day at work. Take Ambien, St. 's Wort and occasionally other things to sleep. Also have to make sure my mind is pretty clear of worries, no lights showing anywhere in the room. Sometimes I have to wear earplugs because of husband's snoring, esp. if he has had a little wine or beer. :) I've actually read that if you have Lyme disease you should not drink any alcoholic beverage. I find that really difficult, because I like to have some wine once in a while. Or beer occasionally.

It has gone a bit quiet here lately and I also thought that everybody moved to the other (Morg.) forum.

I am very glad that you guys are still out there ! Once again, I would have been absolutely helpless without the support of you all !!

The weather has changed to very hot and humid. Therefore the mites decided to torture me again.

Only 4 hours of sleep last night.... Don't think this will ever ever stop :-(((

Me too - I check this site all the time, but don't have much to say anymore now that I feel almost free of the curse. But I still love to read everyones' experiences and enjoy seeing us help each other. I think we are a 'blessed group' as well as 'cursed by mites group'. We have all learned so much from each other. Our lives will never be the same.

-- They shut the road through the woods

Seventy years ago.

Weather and rain have undone it again,

And now you would never know

There was once a road through the woods

Before they planted the trees.

It is underneath the coppice and heath,

And the thin anemones.

Only the keeper sees

That, where the ring-dove broods,

And the badgers roll at ease,

There was once a road through the woods.

Yet, if you enter the woods

Of a summer evening late,

When the night-air cools on the trout-ringed pools

Where the otter whistles his mate.

(They fear not men in the woods,

Because they see so few)

You will hear the beat of a horse's feet,

And the swish of a skirt in the dew,

Steadily cantering through

The misty solitudes,

As though they perfectly knew

The old lost road through the woods….

But there is no road through the woods.

Interesting you talk of "glittering stars", I wonder if they're the same as the crystaline things which glisten that my mother has described on occasions.

I woke up this morning thinking about how lovely life is. I am doing so well. The fungus connection was so right-on. I remember reading about fungus and learning that some funguses have hypae with an inridencent glow to them. My home is quiet, my car is quiet, may body is quiet. I started disolving 1 doxy pill in a little water about 2 weeks ago and massaging into my scalp. Head movement has not only stopped, but I keep combing crystaline gel-like things out of my hair. This never happened before as I had to fight them out. I will continue this for several months as I don't know the life cycle of whatever it is. Bugs of any kind don't bother me any more. I noticed the big turning point at 4 weeks into my diet. Those mites and bugs from the bird's nest, I think, were initally attracked to me

because I must have already had a different type of fungus, and I think candida, growing in me. They introduced the new fungus, bacteria, protozoans, and I think the herpes. My sister swears she got it from a bug bite she received and not me directly. Maybe this is connected to agro-bacteria/fungus mutations as birds collect their nesting items from the plant world.

Love and light,

Me also :-)

These flying critters I have continue to be a magnet to any cotton I still do have around so have shelved these for now--but I also feel as if when trying to wear anything cotton, especially loose knit cotton such as socks--that something from within, is extracting and using it for some part of the infection. My legs and feet were getting better, then got another attack with the warm weather here, that brought on the familiar lumps and moving sensations...and I continue

to produce these 'artifacts' from the soles of my feet at different intervals. But I really need to get around this somehow since I want to start an exercise program wearing running shoes. As it> stands, I continue to fall back on my rubber crocs all the time, which I can easily wash and disinfect but sure can't exercise in them!

Me also :-)

& Cecilia,Thanks for asking after my mother. I think, like many here, she has periods where progress seems to be being made & periods where things seem to regress. I wish there was a complete & certain cure.

A while ago, because I was thiking about the fungal aspect of the infestation, I had suggested trying a product called Virkon S. It is an anti bacterial, anti viral, anti fungal etc. which is safe around animals; it was the goverment recommended viricidal disinfectant recomended by the government (UK) during the foot & mouth epidemic of several years ago. As far as I can gather, it is not indicated for acarids in particular. Anyway, seems she soaked the house in Virkon using a garden pump sprayer & was very pleased with the results (though she wondered whether she might have drowned the mites LOL). She had also been using sulphur & dead sea salt in her bath. Apparently the vineagar seemed to be loosing its efficacy, so she'd gone onto using coal tar shampoo & is happy with the results at the moment.

Cecilia,Just an idea, have you tried anything like putting oil of lemon eucalyptus onto your daughter's skin especially at night? It smells pretty strong but it is lemony & not unpleasant. So far this year I have been finding it very effective at keeping mosquitoes at bay. For whatever reason I seem to be one of those people mozzies find highly tasty. In previous years, my children have even commented that when they go for a walk with me the mozzies bother me & leave them alone!   I learnt here, & then read more, about how certain people are more attractive to mozzies than others, just as some people are more attractive to biting mites than others. I also read here about someone finding the oil of lemon eucalyptus effecive against mites, so I put the two together.

I am learning so much from everyone here, it is even applicable in my home life though, touch wood, we are not attractive to mites. I find I am getting particularly wary of moulds & fungi! All the best Krys

I used it for several years and it did seem to help. I think it might be the menthol in it that helps so much. I also had something like Cradle's Cap - not dandruff per se for a long time, but it seems to be gone now. Hi Cecilia,My Mother is now trying the Selsun shampoo & says it's better than the coal tar, thanks. Is it okay to use it every day? Thanks,KrysOn 29 June 2011 13:38, Cecilia Borg <ceciliaborg@...> wrote:

Thanks Krys for the lemon eucalyptus suggestion. I try and see if I can find it. Would that be in a health store or pharmacy?

For your mum, I guess she has tried it, but Selsun shampoo is very good. I was pleased with coal tar shampoo, but found selsun even better for the itching and problems in the scalp. If she hasn´t tried that is a suggestion.

Take care!Cecilia

Only 4 hours of sleep last night.... Don't think this will ever ever stop :-(((

Sorry to hear they had a go at you last night. Mybe you'll be able to get rid of them in the autumn when the weather gets cooler; you'll be able to get more Dutchys, to go after the biting mites. Presumably the Dutchys will breed & put an end to the biting mites.

Hi, !A lot of people get fungal problems from doxy cause it takes away the good bacteria in the gut and on the skin....I really hope that doesn´t happen to you though:)Take care!CeciliaFrom: Benton <sarahbenton48@...>bird mites Sent: Sat, July 2, 2011 2:18:14 PMSubject: Re: Re: I'm still here

Gee, Cecelia. Thanks for telling me. Right now I am doing the doxy on my head one night and the anti-fungal oils the next. So far, the doxy has been the only thing to stop the ameba/protozoa stuff that was in my hair. I guess I will keep the routine until I see the Dr. Maybe he has a better idea. Why would Doxy feed fungus? I think that's what so many of us face. What brings down one problem as a tendency to build up another problem.

Love and light,

, I was wondering about the glittering stars you have in your car. I have got the same in mine. First I thought they were the mites, but they do not move at all. Strange enough, I do not find them in the house nor in the office...only in the car though. What do you think they are ? Also strange is the fact that they seem to be gone since the predators are there. Excellent idea exchanging recipies. Might be also nice mixing the spinach with fried tomatoes and olive oil on the salmon.

Okay, Cecilia. I have searched the relationship between Doxy and fungus and you are so right. I will stop taking it internally now, but I think I'll still put it on my scalp every other day for a while as that is bringing major relief and sanity.

It is not just Doxy which may cause the fungus, already in ones system, to proliferate; it is antibiotics in general. As I'm sure you know only a small minority of bacteria are harmful, the vast majority are harmless  some are beneficial. It is normal, & many cases, helpful, for humans to have lots of bacteria, ( & other microorganisms) on ones skin, & in ones gut. Unfortunately & antimicrobials cannot differentiate; they just kill bacteria. In some cases, where pathogenic bacteria have taken a hold the only weapon we may have left are the antimicrobials, but other than that they are, IMO, best avoided.

I've been meaning to do a post on bacteria, I thought it might be relevant, because my son, who has studied this at UCL (University College London) said it was a bad plan to try to kill all bacteria on ones skin (or ones gut) & could do mare harm than good.

Okay, Cecilia.  I have searched the relationship between Doxy and fungus and you are so right.  I will stop taking it internally now, but I think I'll still put it on my scalp every other day for a while as that is bringing major relief and sanity.

Might be also nice mixing the spinach with fried tomatoes and olive oil on the salmon.

it seems the safest route to go until we know more. I think the enzymes are helping and that I am getting better, but then another cycle returns so am not quite sure what to say or how to report about that...mainly spinning my wheels? LOL.. I dunno but maybe I am not taking a large enough quantity for what I have going on in my system right now.
