Just to straighten out any misconceptions, Alison took part in the Connaught

Labs vaccine study, and her case is against them. There may be some vaccine

lawsuits against SKB, but if so, I don't know about them. I still would not

vaccine my worst enemy with SKB or any on the market right now.

Marta, I was horrified and yet gratified to read Lynn Lane's story. I

had seen it a long time ago but forgot that she had taken part in the

SKB study and not the Connaught.

Everyone asks me if the " vaccine on TV " is the one I had and as soon as

I say no, they tune me out.

They don't bother to hear me add that it is the same stuff!

I know that there was at least one other lawsuit against SKB and that

was a dentist but I also know he dropped his case.

It took me almost 2 years (yes...2 years) to get legal representation.

When you hear about people suing Mcs because the coffee was too

hot, it sounds like getting a lawsuit going is something anyone can do

for any reason but it soesn't work with that, unless, maybe, you are

dealing with real slime that is independently wealthy (I am referring to

the lawyer and not the plaintiff here).

Since most of these lawsuits are contingency based, the circumstanes

have to be just right before a reputable lawyer will consider investing

the money and time it takes to go to court on behalf of someone. I had

to meet a lot of conditions before my lawyer called me in t sign a

retainer. I had to have a + test, a Lyme specialist, and recorded

arthritic/joint changes before he would even speak with me. Prior to

that, I sent him a load of medical documentation and info but nothing

happened. And even after he finally took me on as a client, he waited

for a report from one of our favorite Lyme specialists (I am going to

play it safe and not name names) before he 100% committed to me. Anyone

who knows my story also knows that the joint problems are not the only

ones I have but they are the only ones documented to be vaccine related

by Steere & co. Without them, I would not have a case. My mental

symptoms....not specific enpugh. The neurological ones...not specific

enpugh and this also applies to the blood/thyroid/ other problems I am

experiencing. But from the beginning, my biggest complaint has been the

joint deterioration and even the 2 synovectomies were not enough without

the report from Dr. Lyme Specialist. I lost track of why I was writing

this...oh yeah!!!! If we all know of at least 2 people damaged by the

SKB vaccine, it stands to reason that there have to be MANY, MANY more.

My mother was in her internist's office one day and there was an army

major in the waiting room-I believe his name was - speaking to

another patient and telling him his life was ruined by the experimental

Lyme vaccine...could this be a huge coincidence? I doubt it. She told me

the vaccine wasn't the " same one I had " so I assume it was SKB. (even

she has a hard time conceding the vaccines ARE the same). The bottom

line is, now that the drug companies are paying for advertising, Lyme is

getting the press it needs so desperately, but for THE WRONG

REASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope that all those out there who are not

(un)lucky enough to meet the criteria for a lawsuit are at least

reporting what happened to them to VAERS and also the Injured Vaccine

Compensation Board (that is not the legit name but basically that is

what the organization is)

By virtue of the fact that such a place exists...it is apparent that the

powers that be know that vaccines can be harmful!!!!!!

Alison,

You are so right, innocent people can and will be hurt by the new

vaccine. Before I read Lynn Lane's story, I was glad for all the publicity

that LymeRix was bringing to our cause. I was being very selfish and

looking at it as to how it would help me to explain the stigma of Lyme. How

many of us have heard, " Lyme? Don't you just take some antibiotics and it

goes away? " I loved it when the girl in the commercial told how it was too

late for her, and now she had serious problems. Since that commercial has

run, I seem to get new respect from just about everyone I know who knows I

have Lyme. The power of TV, I guess. But, like I said, that was really

selfish of me. I had not heard about SKB vaccine injuries or lawsuits, so I

was half-hoping the damn thing would work. I rationalized in my mind that

Alison's problems were from Connaught, not SKB. BOY was I stupid! Hope you

can forgive my ignorance. I still was not recommending the vaccine to any

of my loved ones, or even acquaintances, as it was too new.

Alison, I am praying that your lawsuit amounts to something for your

sake, you really have suffered and so needlessly.

Art Doherty has some great information about the vaccine studies at his

Lyme resource page, here is the URL for anyone interested:

Hi Marta,

I just got a call tonight asking me where they could take their family for

their lyme vaccine shots. I returned their call and they weren't home. Hope

I can educate them before they find someone!

Marta and group. Just for your information, my new LLD is doing a study on

the vaccine and said that it increases the risk of cancer also. I mentioned

that my late husband was involved in the study and got cancer two years

later. He wants me to get his records and pursue it;. I don't know if I can

go through that....but take heed all those who might think its harmless.

Dearest Marta,

I hope you didn't think I was in any way annoyed with you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing in life would make me happier than to think that " help " was on

the way...unfortunately, the reality of the situation is, that it isn't,

at least not with this wonderful vaccine. As I was trying to pull a tick

that was busily burrowing its way into Carl's forearm yesterday morning

without breaking its harmful head off in the process, all I was thinking

was what a disgusting way to have to live this is!

Maybe the SKB people were more dilligent than the Connaught people

were...but their vaccine is essentially the same, with all the same

pitfalls. AT LEAST...Lyme is now getting the attention it deserves. AT

LEAST...now the rest of the world doesn't just think we are a bunch of

psychos!!!!!

As for the rest.....we just have to hope that someone out there will

tell the true story before more people become worse off than they were

while just taking their chances with their spouses removing the ticks

intact and on time. The good news is Carl's doctor immediately put him

on a month of Doxy so hopefully this latest episode will have no

lingering effects!

Did you ever hear about the vaccine compensation board? If you would

like, I will forward you some info on them. I am so sorry about your

husband.

Thanks for the information Gail. Do you mind if I ask what kind of cancer

your husband died of? The reason I ask, I have a relative who had Lyme

disease, he says " Had " anyway. Later went on to develop melanoma, and has

undergone chemo, radiation etc.. He got fed up with all the meds and just

said to heck with it all. Now he is back to work but I don't know think he

is feeling real good. He won't listen to me about Lyme disease. What study

was your husband involved in?

As for your doctor getting copies of your husband's records, I think all it

would involve is your signature on one piece of paper authorizing it.

Hope these questions are not too invasive.

Alison,

I am glad you understood what I was trying to say, sometimes what I mean

to say comes out garbled. Poor Carl, I can imagine how you must have felt

while you were pulling out that tick. I have a dear friend Patty who lives

in land, she is having an awful time on her property too. Her husband

sprays every few weeks for them, but they keep coming back. I told her if

it were me, I would have a For Sale sign up in a flash, but moving for her

is not feasible. I told her to invite all the local politicians to a

backyard barbecue, maybe that would help....LOL!

Hi Marta,

Sorry, I am a few days behind. AOL not working well and I had my support

group meeting. It went well. Yes, I finally got a hold of that lady. Gave

her a 5 minute lecture on Lyme and the vaccine and anything else I could tell

her. she and her family are not going to take it. Thank God.

Hi Marta,

I like the idea of a backyard BBQ. I am going to send out governor a jar

full of ticks. I am so sick of him saying there is not lyme her except in

the UP, that everyone that has it here gets it from out of state.

Dear Connie,

AMEN to that! Hey doesn't he live in the Upper? Isn't he surrounded by

lymies every where? Ignorance is bliss I guess. When someone he loves gets

it, and they will, then only then will he recognize this. What a governor we

have.

God Bless,

What makes me crazy, Marta, is that both of our governors have this

damn thing and they are not helping this fight!!!!! If we had known that

moving to the " country " was going to ruin our lives, we would have

stayed in the xity and taken our chances with the muggers!!!

We are going to move after the lawsuit...but to where???? I at least

want all my future pups to be healthy!!!!!!!!

Hey Reid,

I was just talking about this yesterday to my friend Joe Burke, (Fine

Print News website), I feel like a celebrity now. I went to the

hairdresser's Monday, and while I was waiting my turn, the girl who does my

hair announced to the whole place that I had Lyme disease, they all had

questions, I answered best I could. The Power of that ad for the vaccine is

truly amazing. Kind of scary too, that people will rely on that message,

and not all the rabble rousing we have tried to do face to face for years

now. My own family now realizes this disease is serious, while before they

just kept waiting for me to get over this as if it were a cold or something.

I really have mixed emotions about the whole thing, I would much rather have

gained respect from some other avenue, not because some pretty girl in an ad

says, " I now have serious health problems. "

Boy are you right Alison,

We'd have a better chance in the city against crime, at least we could

use guns. Can't shoot a tick with a bullet....I'm not that good a

shot....LOL!

As for the governors, mine is running for the Senate, so she can't be too

sick. I heard Pataki is sympathetic to Lyme, moreso than Whitman, have you

ever written to him?

marta,

i agree .....but this is how it happened i guess it goes to show the power of

tv......even though i have had articles done on me in major NJ newspapers i

have recieved more response since the vaccine commercials.......maybe they

thought i was making al the bad things up before ....like i wanted to make a

total change in lifestyle......went from being active to well......it took me

till 4 pm today to get the energy to boot up the puter and check my mail

today.......and then i had to force myself at that......my wife i a great

planner....she is not happy in less things are planned in advance......with

this disease i can't plan anything.......i need to tow our travel trailer to

the pococnos where we have property .....it has been home since we had a new

deck put on the property........she keeps bugging me .....i told her i have

to feel up to it.......it will get done i just don't know when......i take

life day by day.....this past month has been my worst ever in 11 years......i

have felt like crap for 4 straight weeks now.......i relly believe it is

weather changes......not only do my joints hurt along with other things but

they burn....weird feeling....and the cold or damp well forget

it......well......thats all from me for now......like i said maybe skb was a

help...as people now listen and ask about our disease and our struggle.....i

read on aol that a shoprite pharmacy has a nurse giving people vaccine shots

and they are promoting it to even active lyme patients......hope they have

good insurance and lawyers.....they will need it

Hi ,

How about that, well, she is making a fortune each and every time that

commercial is aired, and boy is that a lot! I hear that Irene who used to

be on the MTV show, Real World is becoming a spokesperson for Lyme. She

will reach a lot of young people and that is a good thing too.

Marta, I have to agree, the one thing that the vacc commercial is doing for

us is spreading the awareness. I also have to say that they are telling docs

in my area that lyme disease is prevelant so they need to look at the vac,

but the docs are not anxious to use it. I am a hairdresser my self and trust

me my customers are constantly asking me more about lyme now that they are

seeing the adds, plus they picc line always leads to conversation about it.

HI Amy, and everyone. I am jgoing back on IV again on Monday and I was

wondering what kind you or anyone else is on. Five years ago I had an IV line

put inand the medicine was in a little ball that slowly got smaller over an

hour and than you threw it out. The infusion co. told me that they don't do

that anymore because the ball types are too expensive and that now I have to

have a bag with a poll. Is this true? Does any one out there use the little
