Guest guest
Great control! It sounds kind of funny in hindsight, though I’m sure you weren’t too amused at the time. It’s so hard working with the public, you can’t be too rude to those people in front of potential customers, though they certainly had it coming to them. I hope you have a cell phone handy to call 911 in case something like this get’s too far out of hand. –dz- [ ] Re: Exciting Saturday Morning...made me laugh In addition to that happening Friday night.... I work in my model until 7pm and about 6 or so these group of women came in and looked around. Instead of leaving like most people do they just hung out...actually sat down (all 5 of them) in my formal living and were talking really REALLY loud...just made themselves right at home. Anyways, the youngest (@ 25 or so) came in the kitchen while I was talking to some prospective homebuyers. She had this green vase in her hand, interupted our conversation and asked, " Can I have this? " My chin must have hit the floor because the couple I was talking to cracked up. I got real indignant and said no, but the dummy asked again. Then after I told her no and that it wasn't even mine to give she punched me in the arm and told me she was just kidding. Back she goes to the living room...they stayed another 5 minutes or so...as they were walking out the door she turns around and asks... " wanna trade? " I just lost it....mentally. Thank the Lord that these other people were there or I probably would have gone off. PEOPLE AMAZE ME!!! Jen
Guest guest
I suppose. I have never thought of that aspect of your business. We've got a lot of weird characters around our plant, but at least they're (for the most part), identified. Are you generally in highly populated areas? It's kind of neat to me to meet people from so many different walks of like and learning things about different professions that I never would have thought of. So I suppose you work a model alone (not wanting to share any commissions )) -dz- [ ] Re: Exciting Saturday Morning...made me> laugh> > In addition to that happening Friday night....> > I work in my model until 7pm and about 6 or so these group of women > came in and looked around. Guest guest
I guess there’s pro’s and cons to that. My brother lost his job after 28 years and is now working with a company that sells funeral plots, etc… He ran the sales office where he used to work, but was a network tech. They did CAD drawings etc. for companies in manufacturing. We all know how manufacturing has fared in the past several years. Anyway, he’s got some experience in the sales field, but not direct sales as he is now. He works on 100% commission. If he doesn’t sell, he makes nothing. Not the field for me. He works odd hours too, like several days running, then a week off, or something like that. –dz- [ ] Re: Exciting Saturday Morning...made > me > > laugh > > > > In addition to that happening Friday night.... > > > > I work in my model until 7pm and about 6 or so these group of women > > came in and looked around. Guest guest
I’ve heard a somewhat milder form of that like “selling ice cubes to an Eskimo”. Anyway, my back seems ok today, thanks for asking. I’m suffering from psychic troubles now. Everybody in my household is going to the hospital, leaving me and the pets to despair… No rest for the wicked, I guess. I hope to hear more about my mom soon. It’s her I’m most worried about. If she loses much more functionality we won’t be able to care for her on our own. Better days are coming, we don’t yet know when. –dz- [ ] Re: Exciting Saturday Morning...made me laugh Yep, really weird hours when you're in sales. Pardon the expression, but Shane says I could " sell shit to a shit farmer " , but even with all the money that there is to be made I'd rather be home on the weekends with them. Oh well, I guess I can put my knack for b.s. to use elsewhere. BTW...how's your back today? Jen
