Guest guest
Good morning Marta, I've had that symptom before. I will feel " hot spots " on my body, usually on my face and on my legs. I have no idea what it is. Is there a rash associated with this? Is it on one side of your body? I'm just wondering if it's the beginning of shingles. Our Dr. thought I had shingles at one point, but it turned out to be who-knows-what (as usual). With that burning feeling I did have a rash, on both sides of my body; he said that shingles is almost always on one side but it can be atypical and hit both sides. I know that the trunk is one of the main areas for it to hit. If not shingles, I would guess it's just another Lyme symptom. Isn't that wonderful?! Don't hesitate to call the doc; his staff would be more than happy to ask him your question and get back to you..........don't ever worry about feeling as if you are bothering him! He is truly great and I'm sure doesn't mind responding to such questions. Yesterday, I woke up feeling pretty good, and only about 10AM, started to feel pretty sick, so I went back to bed, when I woke up later in the afternoon, I had burning skin sensations, on different parts of my left side, from my face to my ankles. This morning after a bad night, I got up, and now they are worse. I seem to recall having this type pain about 2 years ago before I got on good antibiotics for my Lyme/HME/HGE. The pain feels like an Indian burn, if any of you know what that is....when we were kids, we would grab each others wrists with both hands, and twist the skin in opposite directions. Any suggestions, it is really bad on my scalp, trunk near the ribs, my face and thighs. Think it warrants a call to my doc? He is awfully busy, and many times I get symptoms, and by the time he returns my call, they are gone, and I feel foolish. >>
Guest guest
Marta, I would suggest you go see the doctor, if he can't see you then maybe a physicians assistant could see you. I wouldn't hold off, it might get worse. Maybe they can give you some medication to help stop it. Let us know what happens. My prayers are with you. Guest guest
Dear Marta, I have had the same symptoms. They seem to come and go. I noticed that when I am herxing, the hot spots and the skin burning is prevelant. My husband has had the same thing. I'm pretty convinced this is a lyme thing. The good news is that is does come and go. Not a constant feeling. Hang in there girl God Bless you, Sandy(~.~)
Guest guest
Dear Marta, If you are in pain, definitely go to the doctor - he's supposed to be there to serve you, not the other way around. I have had the burning, and also the pain in various partsof the body, but I can't recall having them both together in the same place. But I don't recall a whole lot anymore. Please call your doc, and let us know how you're getting along. Will be praying for you. Take care, Lauretta Marta McCoy wrote: > From: " Marta McCoy " <mlmccoy@...> > > Hi group, > My turn to ask for some help or validation. Guest guest
Sandy & All who were kind enough to respond, It was a bad herx sneaking up on me, (I knew it felt familiar) I spent all day in bed, and still am a bit shaky at 2AM as I write this. Lots of nightsweats and bad dreams, swollen glands, the whole nine yards. I haven't had one this bad in awhile, so I guess the Ceftin is working afterall. Guest guest
Der Marta, Hello, Marta,, I am new to this list. I too have had really bad herx's, but am doing much better now. I felt dicouraged at times, when the depression set in,I would think to myself, " i know this too shall pass " I'm very sorry you are suffering so, it's such along road. My knees have improved alot, but I still have cognitive problems. I also have nightmares, and very vivid dreams. Sometimes, in my dreams it feels like a movie, and when the nightmares are there it feels so real, that when I wake up, I tell myself it was only a dream...I wonder if it is the medicine or the spiros dying off that produces this type of dreaming? Take care Marta, and feel free to E-mail me any time. My name is . God bless, KAREN
Guest guest
Dear Marta, I have the same thing going on!! My pinky finger is extremely swollen, for no reason, another lyme thing. We just keep rebuking this illness in Jesus name!! I'll pray that you get relief soon. God Bless you, Sandy (~.~)

Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for your kind words, I am definitely herxing, the burning pains are not quite as bad as they were a few days ago, but I still feel wrung out. I know we are all supposed to be grateful when herxes occur, as this is proof that the darn bugs are dying, but I just can't bring myself to be thrilled....LOL! As for the dreaming....wow, I don't know either if it is meds or Lyme in the brain, but I have what I call " Alice in Wonderland " dreams, I have no idea where my subconscious comes up with these stories....yes, they are like mini-series too. Some are very lucid, and vivid, all are wacky! I often have to get up in the night to urinate, and I have had some strange ones about trying to find a bathroom. My personal theory is that our sleep is so poor due to pain, and since we are not in a deep sleep, we recall our dreams more than is normal. Guest guest
Martha, sorry you are feeling so bad. How long have you been on treatment? Do you get uncontrollable chills w/fever? I used to get the stabbing pains that everyone is talking about, but haven't gotten them in a while now. I get the meningitis type symptoms with severe muscle spasms etc. I worry if I ever get anything else, no anitobiotic will work for me anymore, after 8 years of continuous treatment. fondly and in my prayers, gail;
Guest guest
Hi Gail, I have been treated for Lyme disease/HME/HGE since August 96. I have had chills and fevers in the past, not as often now. I have only been on IV for six weeks, orals the rest of the time. I think I am getting worse instead of better, physically and neurologically....which is scary. I am sorry that no antibiotic is working for you, maybe that is the same for me too, so I am anxious to try the Bicillin shots you talked about in an earlier post...I think it was you....short term memory loss is a real big problem for me too. Thanks for the prayers and good wishes. Hugs, Marta >From: IAMAVIPTWO@... > >Marta, sorry you are feeling so bad. How long have you been on treatment? >Do you get uncontrollable chills w/fever?
