Blue Cross covers them so I imagine Medicare would. There are trials and

programs you can qualify for to help supplement the costs.

Hi

Does anyone know if Medicare or Medicare supplement insurance covers the

Peg-interferon injections and Ribiviron pills combination therapy? If

not, how much does it cost and are there free or reduced cost clinics

available? How can these be found?

Thanks

Hi ChaiPalm and Lynne

Thank you so much for your emails.I would guess if Medicare covers

treatments in Colorado it should in every state since it is the US govt?

Thanks

Hi

Thanks for the answers. We are on Medicare with A and B which is the

basic Medicare. We have Medicare supplement (MediGap) plan F. It doesn't

say anywhere in the info we have if the injections/pills are covered. We

did a liver panel test and it was covered, but the viral load and

genotype tests were not! Can you believe?

That is ridiculous. Depending on the genotype you could be recommended to a 24 week course rather than a 48 week. You would think that for their own benefit it would pay to do that test. That's our government working for us.... -dz-monkey@... wrote:
