Guest guest
I know found a lot of negative stuff on the internet, it seems that people are more likely to squawk when things aren't going well. There's a lot of horror stories about people having trouble with the treatment etc. it's good to get a better view. We all know it's not easy, and it doesn't always work, but sometimes it does! The percentages are getting better and better. Hopefully they come up with a better treatment soon. -dz-Sharon Colburn <smc203@...> wrote: Dave, I definately, even late in the medication, needed to know there were actually real people out there that have been virus free a couple of years. Guest guest
I made that mistake too. When I was feeling a little better, sometimes I overidid it and paid the next day or two. Eventually you figure out what you can and can't do. On my good days I tried to get a few accomplishments out of the way, but learned not to push it too hard, and when I was tired, I rested. I learned to listen to my body. I got a LOT of reading done during that year. I missed a few more days of work than normal, and had many relatively unproductive days at work as well. But I managed. My goal was getting my 8 hours in and drinking my water, anything else was a plus. Some of my friends and relatives were sometimes a little put off that I was "antisocial". Most of them were understanding. I went to my stepson's wedding with my wife and we took two cars. I left early. Though I learned this being in recovery. I would go to certain events, like weddings and other gatherings that alcohol was being served and there would come a certain point when I became uncomfortable (usually about the time people start getting intoxicated) and I just left. People who were my true friends had to get used to that. -dz-Lynne <lynne@...> wrote: I was petrified starting the treatments also. The first couple of week were hard, maybe more due to fearing the worst, but I was able to work right thru treatments. Yes I was tired and I had a couple of bad days. But I basically set my goal on work, went in did my physical job and came home and passed out. The house didn't clean much, and I learned not to overdue when I was feeling good. Rest, water, and doing anything that relax me was my main concern. Now that it is over, each week gets better, and now work with plenty of energy like the old days. So keep thinking positive, you can do it and it will all work out. Lynne
Guest guest
Ditto, Terry. Going through the treatment is accomplishment enough. My doctor told me something part way through the treatment that made me feel good and may have helped me. He said, Look at it this way, you are already a champion for going through this treatment, or something to that effect. It takes courage and determination. While going through it I remembered commenting that it was like taking a pill that was like drinking a case of beer for the hangover, with no buzz included... It also helped me make it through work, remmembering how many days I suffered through the day at work with a wicked hangover. At least those are a thing of the past. -dz-Terry Long <pawpawto3@...> wrote: That is what I did, I worled my 40 week & that was about all. Susy picked up my slack around the house & we didn't get out much. I just kept my eyes on the end result. Terry
