while everyone's on the subject of mentioning their body temps, I might add

that I don't know my exact temp - we go by Celsius here anyway so you

wouldn't understand - but I am always freezing. My partner sweats as we

have the water bed up for me, while I get terrible neck and back pain from

the slightest bit of cold!

When I was single I would have two doonas and an electric blanket in summer.

Me too. I am O positive. I always keep the house at around 68 or cooler in

the winter. My son who is also an O positive is always complaining that we

live in an igloo. I can't stand a warm bedroom and I turn the heat down at

night to around 60 and I never have the heat vent in my bedroom open. Don't

know what this means. I don't remember if it has always been this way, but

since menopause it has been. I think that after the hot flashes, my

temperature control got set higher.

I've had problems with body temperature quite a bit. It's better now

what with the herbs I'm taking and I do notice that my body can heat

itself better but still not 100%

============

HELLO I had big issues with body temp too low (always 97 something, rarely

98) and also night sweats etc.... discovered My IRON and my B12 was WAY low

(probably from being sick so long) and HIGH supplements have helped ALOT to

regulate my temps ... wouldnt hurt next time at doc to have levels checked....

good

luck!

You couldn't have written this at a better time, Marcie! Had abnormal thyroid

tests in 2004. Follow-up tests showed normal. Last Thurs, I got my test

results. My T3 Free was very low, T4 Free low. I'm starting my natural thyroid

tomorrow. I pray to God that this helps me. Have been really struggling to

find something that works. Does this mean you don't have Candida? Are you

eating sugar again:o)?

body temp

Hi, everyone!

I had to tell you what has been the biggest help in beating my candida

issues- getting on natural thyroid so my body temp is normal. My body

temp was always so low and many of the candida symptoms are the same as

low thyroid. All my thyroid tests were always " normal " so don't ever

believe it. It is such a gift to not be itchy all the time, to have

energy, to be clear-headed, to not be a bitch...

I also tested weak for adrenals- visit www.adrenalfatigue.org or get the

book Adrenal Fatigue by .

Which came first, the weak glands or the candida? Can't say but I know

that treating my glands has been miles above all the candida killing

pills, no sugar, etc.

Don't give up! Keep track of your body temp.

Know how we are suppose to get a fever if we catch a bug? Well what fun

" bugs " can have in a BELOW normal body temp. Party time!

Marcie : )

come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is

people who have come alive. "

I, too, cannot seem to get my body temp up. It is still at around 97.0 and 96.7. I have been on LDN for 3 months now and take 60 mg of Armour thyroid. My Doc did a TSH and says I should lower my Armour thyroid......I am also taking Sea Kelp 640 mg. I still have fatigue and the low body temp and get cool easy. I live in AZ and keep my A/C at 87-88 degrees anything lower I am cold. I know I need to find an Endocrinologist

that will do the right testing rather than just TSH. I just want to feel well again. I will try eating more hot foods and thank you for your comments. Wishing you all health. Alana.

I think that the amount of Armour you taking might still be too low.

Dr. Mark Starr would have you add 30 mg. every 2 weeks to one month

while you monitor your symptoms. You might eat more hot foods such as

peppers or cayenne or any red food. Also add more good fat into your

diet so that the digestive fire can burn. (fire needs fuel)

What is your body weight? Depending upon weight you might need as high as 3 grains of Armour (180 mg.)

I have been on iodoral for about 10 months. It has helped a lot of my

hypo symptoms especially brain fog and depression. I still have

eczema(fungal? ) constipation and low body temp. I can't get my temp

above 97.5 no matter what I do. I am doing adrenal support

(solaray),5mg dhea and armour thyroid 65mg. I take selenium and vitc. I

have run out of magnesium and haven't taken it for a few weeks. I am in

menopause and have had a hysterectomy due to a ovarian cyst that also

had a contained small malignancy. I am cancer free now but want to stay

that way. Any suggestions on the body temp? I don't feel cold usually

except late at night when I am tired and my temp is 96.6. Ps I am self

treating due to insurance issues and when I was tested by my doc he

only did a tsh which in his view was normal.

It is a rare Endo that is not a slave to the TSH. Have you looked on the Armour

site Physician Locator, for an Armour friendly doc? The NaturalThyroidHormone

group has a Good Doc file. You might find one close to you.

Alana,I had a low TSH and I was on 4 grains of Armour and it kept getting close to zero. So when I started sleeping just an hour a night my chiropractor/GP gave me some pituatary gland support from Standard Process and I also take RNA. I went hyperthyroid so now I typically take 2 grains of thyroid. Possibly something similar would help you. I also had an acupuncture treatment that brought my temperature up in just one treatment from where you are at to 98.5 The worst part about being cold body is the enzymes don't work well in your body, taking mega digestive enzymes with each meal helps with nutrition and energy.

Have you tested her thyroid levels? How about adrenals? If they are low so are her sex hormones. Is she gluten free? Gluten aggravates hashi's and you may not make progress as long as she is eating it (if she is).

we cannot seem to get my 17 year old daughter with hashi body temp to go up....her temp is steady at about 97.2 at the beginning of her cycle...after ovulation it will finally reach 97.8...she is currently taking 2.5 grains of armour (we will be switching to NT )..she takes 50 mg of iodoral and ATP cofactors, iron for low ferritin, B12, magnesium, selenium, vitamin D3...does this mean she should increase her armour dose ?? any advice would be great..would love to get her temps up before school starts so she can be optimal...thanks...

I am 42 with about the same temp on iodoral at 50mgevery other day. Whenever I raise my dose ofiodoral, my temp goes up. But it takes time.I have to do this slowly or my liver becomes too toxic. It is working, just not quickly.Be patient.AliOn Aug 31, 2009, at 6:08 AM, dawn volz wrote:my 17 yr old daughter is now on about 3 grains of NT...she has been at this level for about 2 weeks...she says she feels good but her basal body temp is still too low...it sits at about 97.2....and her weight is the same..no gain but no loss either....she is on 50 mg of iodoral and all the other nutrients and then some!! i just dont know about these thermometers either...i have finally switched her to a digital basal thermometer...anyway...i know this is too low of a temp...is there something else we can do to raise it..or do we just wait and see where it is after sitting at 3 grains for a few weeks?? she is not due for more blood work until november or so...but again she says she feels good...thanks

How is her iron / ferritin and B12 level? My children struggle with iron / iron stores when they grow and that makes it look like they are low thyroid with low temps.

I'm supposed to be monitoring my body temp in the afternoon so I don't go

hyperthyroid. I just started on levothyroxine last week. I finally got around

to getting a thermometer and out of curiosity I took my temp this morning. It

was 95.4 using my left arm pit. When I did the same thing at Dr. M's office it

was 98.0. I took it this morning after getting up, showering, taking out the

trash and taking my meds. It just seemed awfully low to me and huge difference

from when I took it at Dr. M's office. I just took it again at work about an

hour after taking it at home and it is now 96.6. What does this mean? What's

crazy is that I'm always really hot and sweat profusely if I barely move. Also,

my labs were technically normal even though I'm hypo with my point being I would

think with the temp differences that I would be off much more on the labs.

Could the temp variance be something besides thyroid?
