HI Cheryl,

>When she started the yelling back at me that made me more determined

>then ever that she had to go to school, and I did it!!!

I would have done the same thing! My theory is: if you've got that much

energy, you're not that sick!!

My daughter, Adi, had terrible headaches when she was 9, I think. We

also thought migraines, but after a neurological check, he suggested stress

headaches. Let's hope that has this kind of pain. Its easier to treat,

and definatly less debilatating than migraines.

I also used to have headaches and reactions just like you described. Once

I changed many things in my life that were causing me concern, they went

away.

You followed your instinct, so even if she comes home today with another

headache, do what you think is best. Calling the doctor is always a good

idea, in case there is more to it. Could just be a virus, too. Physically,

we can make ourselves sick (to get attention?), she may be doing that too.

You may not react to her ocd pleas, but physically throwing up you would.

let me know...

good luck, hope she feels better today.

I used to have migraines and I found that if I took Xanax at the first sign

of symptoms the migraine stopped completely.

Hi Cristi,

In the back of your neck you can press, actually start at the shoulder blade, press as hard as you can and do a Life Lift breath. Then go to another spot and work your way up the back of your head. The tops of your ears and the tops of your toes, too! On your temples, and on your hands in the fleshy part of your palm between your thumb and first finger. Just press, it may feel tender, and breathe. I do some of this to keep from getting computer burn out in my neck and shoulders. It really helps.

I have also heard that taking feverfew, I am not sure how to spell it, but the health food store should know, is supposed to be very helpful.

Let me know how this works. I get a lot of mail from people telling me that have reduced migraines and just plain headaches considerably with Life Lift so give it a try. I hope it helps you, I hate to see you hurting.

Take care,

My mom and I both have migraines, my mom takes the Feverfew and swears by it. Says her headaches have reduced. I'm not sure how much she takes, but she takes it daily. Mine go away if I eat right and keep my liver detoxed. I have an herbal tea I make, my siser-in-law the midwife gave me this recipe. BTW, she's a real midwife, not todays nurse midwife. I use unbleached coffee filters, white cotton thread to tie the tea bag, and equal parts of these ingredients, Dandelion Leaf, Milk Thistle, Nettle, Raspberry Leaf, Rosehips, and Yellow Dock. I buy these at a health food store in equal amounts, mix them together in a Tupperware bowl, so I can seal it and use it as neccessary. I just grab a table serving spoon and put a couple of spoon fulls in the coffee filter, tie it tight, and put it into a pot of water that is already at boiling point. Remove from fire, add your tea bag, let steep for at least 30 minutes. It gets pretty strong, so dilute as needed. I drink it warm, iced with lemon, it is quite good. Too strong can get bitter. Start with only a glass or two per day, don't over do it. It does a cleanse of the liver and too much, too soon, could cause a headache or " not feeling good" symptoms, like any other cleanse. I hope this can help, it sure has been a lifesaver for me! W from Oz

Hi ,

I tried to send you a confirmation for your Victory Theory tape order and again your email address would not go through for me. Have you ever received any of the newsletters that I have sent to you? I notice that they seem to always come back.

I am grateful for this great information you have provided here. I get so many questions about headaches and it is so helpful to know what works for others.

I never get headaches so I never know first hand. Maybe that is because I am always full of oxygen. LOL.

You are so great to take your time to share this information. I will put it in my files for future use.

Take care, Rashelle

Hi Rashelle, I don't know why it's not going thro.I have received a few undeliverables when I have sent stuff to you. My email hasn't changed ever, and I am going to contact prodigy today and try to get it straightened out. One of my friends and I have had trouble getting mail back and forth on occasion. Can't wait to get my Victory tapes. Especially if they are as good as everyone says they are. So far I love my Herbal wrap.Got them Monday, used them that evening, and Tuesday night I noticed that my cellutlite on my thighs looked different, more bumpy than ever! I assumed that meant it was being affected and was beginning to break up! I HOPE SO, I HOPE SO, I HOPE SO!!! Now, if it makes this post baby belly get tighter and smaller, I really will be a happy camper!!!! It's a "The last one was 9 years ago", post baby belly! I was beginning to think that it was going to be with me longer than the kids! Have a great day! maryW from Oz!

Hi ,

Boy, I wish I could figure out why our servers are not compatible. I am going to go to one of my other mailboxes with a different server to see if that helps.

You are so great and I want to be able to send you mail off the list, and of course your newsletters. I will try that to see if it works.

The thing about the cellulite looking bumpier could be just that it is "Lifting Off" Think of it as bunching up to get ready to make it's exit.

I can't wait to hear your response in a few weeks when you have used the Body Wrap products for awhile. Sometimes it starts to show results within days, others it takes weeks, but it seems to me from the calls and messages I have received that the products always seem to give great results.

Your Victory Theory tapes are being shipped today, so it should only be a few days until they arrive. I am sorry I have not been able to send you a personal confirmation.

I was having more frequent migraines (up to 6/mo the month before), along

with every-day regular headaches. I saw recently an item on Neurontin

saying that it prevents headaches. I started on a low dose, and am now up to

100mg 3X/day. It has cut everyday headaches down to a minor nuisance

infrequently, and migraines down to almost nothing. I occassionally get a

watered-down stabbing eye pain, but it goes away in a couple of minutes

without my taking anything.

-Hi! I use Amerge for my migraines. I get a 72-hour marathon

migraine every month (hormonal). I used to use Imitrex, but as you

said, it isn't long-lasting. I have switched to Amerge, and it is

wonderful! One tablet lasts at least 24 hours for me. But the cost

is tremendous. I'm fighting with my insurance company because they

want to pay for only 6 pills a month, and there are 9 in the

package! And then having CFS, you're afraid to mess around with

other meds. Although, to me, Amerge is a miracle drug. I remember

when Imitrex first came out. It was a God send, then, but I had to

supplement the med w/pain killers after about 12 hours...I was afraid

to use 2 shots a day.

Yes, I hear neurontin is good for headaches, too. I'm just afraid to

use it! my doc also said neurontin helps your mood elevate.

Good luck!

Hugs,

Jo Ann

PS...BTW, after using Amerge, I can actually be active with it in my

system. I don't have many side-effects, other than sometimes pains

in my stomach.

,

The first few years I was sick, I had the most HORRIFIC migraines every month

before my period - they would last for days. And actually, this is the ONLY

symptom that acupuncture and chinese herbs helped me with. For some reason,

acupuncture helped me with nothing else (in fact, later on in the illness, it

made me sicker), but it did actually eliminate the migraines. I get them

very rarely now.

Hi,

Do any of the woman in this group get migraines around

their monthly cycles? I'm 43 and the migraines started

about 2-3 years ago. There's about 2 days each month

where I'm down with a migraine. I've tried natural progesterone

with no help. I don't like to take painkillers but these

days I need to.

What has worked for you?

Any suggestions?

I occasionally have migraines, and I've resorted to pain killers in

the past. I looked around and found this:

http://www.migraines.org/treatment/treatalt.htm

" Feverfew Leaf is a good non-drug preventitive treatment you may want

to explore. Its main uses are for migraines and arthritis. Studies at

the London Migraine Clinic have increased interest in this herb. This

herb continues to undergo extensive scientific investigation of the

parthenolide content, and how it normalizes the funtion of platelets

in the blood system by inhibiting platelet aggregation, reducing

serotonin release from platelets and blocking the formation of pro-

inflamatory mediators. Seventy percent of the patients in these

studies report fewer attacks of migraines and less painful attacks.

Researchers believe that Feverfew prevents the spasms of blood

vessels in the head that trigger migraines. This herb also relieves

the inflammation associated with arthritis. Other benefits include:

relief from nausea and vomiting; improvement of digestion; more

restful sleep; and, relief of dizziness, brain, and nerve pressure.

In regards to dose, NaturalLife, a reputable dietary supplement

company, suggested one 380 mg capsule, three times a day. Best

results are obtained with continuous use. "

Also

http://www.nutritionfocus.com

has a page with benefits, contraindications and use,as well as

references. Look under " herbs " for feverfew. They say that there

can be some withdrawel symptoms with this. Worth a look.

So, not only could this be helpful for migraines, it is another

possible nonprescription anticoagulant!

Since I'm on Lovenox right now, I can't take my painkillers or

feverfew, so when I get headaches, I take niacin - not niacinamide or

time release. The plain niacin seems to work best for me, and I'm

used to the flush. My migraines may not be as rough as yours though,

but it may be worth a try. Since the article on migraines.org says

migraines are triggered by spasms of blood vessels in the head and

niacin is a vasodilator - relaxing blood vessels I presume.

Hope this helps. I know it's miserable.

Feverfew was a big waste of money for me. My headaches are much worse

than what feverfew would help, If it would help at all. I am dumping

the FF out of the capsules and using them to scoop in the bulk

magnesium that I got from Dave W. The niacin idea makes a lot of

sense to me. I am going to try that the next time I get a killer

headache. Mine are from drops in barometric pressure, not PMS!! :o)

Mike,

I was interested in your barometric pressure relationship to migraines. I

have the same, but it requires BOTH barometric pressure drop AND previous

ingestion of trigger foods - in me these are chocolate, citrus, nuts,

cheese. Have you noticed these/thought of this?

Since you have put it so succinctly it has encouraged me to think about

trying chocolate before high pressure episodes. This will put a whole new

enthusiasm into watching the TV weather!

Laurie,

Thanks for the reply.

I have been taking 455mg feverfew twice a day for years.

I can remember one month that I ran out of feverfew and forgot

to get more, I had headaches/migraines for 3 weeks straight.

It was so bad that I asked to have an MRI on my brain (which

was normal) When I resumed the feverfew my migraines went

back down to ~2 days/month.

I've been on heparin since Jan 8th.

I didn't stop feverfew when I started heparin. If I need

to take a painkiller, I'll skip a heparin dose.

I'm getting 22mg niacin and 25 mg niacinamide in a supplement

I take. How much niacin do you take?

Thanks,

No, I have never thought about the food connection. The headaches

correlate 100% with the amount of the drop in the barometric pressure.

For example, if the barometer is 30.3, and a low front approaches

and the pressure goes to 29.8 or less, it's torture. That doesn't

sound like a big drop in pressure, but tell that to my sinuses. I

will start to look at foods and try to avoid nuts, cheese or anything

that might have fungus. That is a good idea.

I have been taking 455mg feverfew twice a day for years.

The neurologist who did my MRI brainscan suggested 400 mg B-2/day for

migraines. I blew him off, until someone on another list I'm on said she was

taking 400 mg B-2/day, and after nine months of it, her migraines went away.

So i'm on month two, and mine are getting less frequent. Don't know if it's

the B-2 or not, but it's cheap, and you pee out any excess.

There are several kinds of migraines. Are yours the pounding kind,

or are they constant pain/pressure over one eye or none of the

above? My feeling is that different type migraines may respond to

different treatments. What is the B2 supposed to do?

Mike

Mine tend to be right sided temporal pounding migraines that when you turn

your head it feels like your brain is moving about two seconds behind the

physical movement. Sometimes the send sharp pains into my right eye or right

ear. When they first began, just about twenty years ago, I had an aura over

the right eye and a migraine would ensue about thirty minutes later. They

would last seven days or so - Demerol and Phenergan was a way of life, but

fortunately they didn't occur that often. As I got older, they occurred more

frequently, but the aura stopped appearing, so I never knew when to expect

one. I also have regular pounding allergy/pressure type headaches, and what

began to happen is regular headaches would turn into migraines and I would

only realize it when I couldn't hold my head up all of a sudden. Then the

swift temporal pain would envelope me. when I first got sick, and off and on

over these past five years, they would come and not leave. The neurologist

called it status migrainous (sp?). They don't really respond well to

anything, even the new designer migraine meds. Those meds cause even worse

rebound headaches in me. So he prescribed what I usually take - Toradol to

keep it in a tolerable enough status for me to get out of bed and land on

the couch, hydrocodone for the intolerable times, a couple of the designer

migraine meds to try, and told me to take B-2, 400 mgs/day. Said some people

have luck with it, some don't. I figured it was hocus pocus and ignored him.

Didn't even bother to research further, so I can't help you on why or what

it's mechanism of action is. Been too sick to even want to spend much time

doing anything, frankly. But for $8.00/month, I figured why not. Don't have

them everyday anymore.

When I started the heparin, and now sometimes still, I get a headache. But

not usually a migraine. Usually goes away about the same time as the

sleepiness and lightheadedness the heparin causes.

My migraines are also hormonal related, usually get a bad migraine first day

of my period, weather related, food related and mold related.
