Where are you, Deb? I lived in Denver for several

years before moving to Green Bay, and I do miss the

dz...im in Washington state.....across the puget sound

from seattle. I have the best of all worlds where i

live...two blocks and im on the beach...woods and we

can see all the mountain ranges we had glorious

sun for christmas....it was soooooo

beautiful...actaually still is!!!

i got the job i wanted in a place called port

townsend...a sleepy waterfront victorian town full of

burnt out ol hippies like me its the same distance

from my house to there as it was to where i currently

work!! as always with the state its temp for the first

6 months...but thats normal based on funding so im not

worried:)

glad everyone had a great christmas....now we can all

celebrate a bright new year ...hugs, gang, deb

Glad you got your job! All I remember about Washington

was that I spent a couple of days in the Kelso County

jail for hitchhiking. I remember that after hitching

across the Rockies it sure was nice to see a variety

of trees again, once I got to Oregon & Washington.

you are absolutly right....it is awesome here...it

doesnt get a whole lot prettier...and its always

green:) im stoked about my new job....it will be alot

of work as i will have all the programs and no

clerical support...but ya also just do your own thing

as there are no bosses there either, i feel relly

fortunate as the director had them reopen the position

when he heard i hadnt heard about it...so i applied

and he hired...how cool is that hope everyone is

having a great day...we are for sure...50ish and

bright sun everywhere doesnt get any better than

this...and its friday too deb

We're looking for a high of 12 today. But the sun is

shining. Around here the sunshine is a mixed blessing

at this time of year, the clouds hold in the heat a

bit, when our skies clear all our heat goes right up

to the stratosphere and gone. But I don't want to rain

on your parade, sounds like things are going very well

for you. It's always nice to get a little of that.

I don't have anybody to fight with over the pc, unless

my son is here. My wife doesn't seem to have an

interest. I am still fighting the sleeping patterns, I

was up until 4 this morning and have now just got up

at 9:30. At least it's Saturday where I can get away

You are better than i am Dave..I went to bed about 1:00 and got up at 5:00 and went back to bed at 8:00 and slept till 11:00..Now whose sleep pattern is all messed up???? LOL...I sure do miss hearing from everyone.....

Hi Jan

I'm still right here. Not doing much since Christmas. Worked Thursday and Friday. Yesterday I put some insulation up in the wood shop. I plan to do some more today. Once I get it insulated and set up so I can do something I will have to get involved in a project. I've been thinking of a remote controlled boat.

We're not planning to do anything New Years Eve but are hopefully going to get up early and hike up on a local small mountain and watch sunrise. Dave - any idea how much earlier the sun would rise with an increase of 1,000 feet elevation? Also, when is sunrise - when the sun just shows, is half way, or all the way up? I have a thing for small details like that. So far I haven't found an explanation on the net. I'm sure glad I don't live in Buffalo, NY! Those poor guys won't get home from plowing until April.

holidays.. We are going out for dinner and that will

be it for our holiday. I suppose I'll stay up and see

Interesting question. I suppose for every foot in

elevation you would be extending the horizon about a

foot further out. A point on the equator moves about

25,000 miles in 24 hours. Figuring at 45 degrees

lattitude that would be about half, I figure that you

would be moving about 520 mi/hr or 8.7 mi/minute or

..144 mi/sec or 760 feet per second. So you better get

up there about 2 or 3 seconds earlier. -dz-

I haven't gone out for New Years Eve for quite a while

(at least not around midnite) Even before I quit

drinking, we used to call it amateur night. People

that weren't used to driving intoxicated like we were,

We are all staying home..KIds have fireworks and that's good enough for me..i sure don't need anything fancy here..I love the bonfire homey setting...HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!!1
