Guest guest
Hey, I am still new to low T and I havent started any treatment yet. I was wondering if yoy could go into more detail about what you Endo was rude/up front about? I would be good to know so I can tell if my Endo is being up front with me. Also, what initially brought you into you GP? Im trying to get a good idea of how this is presentin in other people. > > Well, I was prescribed Testim by my GP, and had went from 124 pre-testim to 488 on 50mg/tube a day. Still felt aweful... > > I still didn't know wether I was primary or secondary at this point. When it came for the results with the GP after blood work and I was told I was at 488 which was good (because it was in the middle) I am like okay, but of course I was wondering if I could go higher, maybe I would feel somewhat better to be atleast in the upper 1/3, and he just kinda dodged the question, we talked about other labs and he sent me on my way. > > I made an appointment with an Endo to get a 2nd opinion. I was basically told that I would need to go off the Testim for 3 months to let my body get back to what it was normally so he can properly diagnose me, and then when he got the tests back in 3 months, I needed to decide on if I wanted to have HCG shots when it was time to go back on the testosterone . > > I've only been on the testim for a month and a half, does it really take that long for me to have to wait that long? > > My endo was very upfront, blunt, and honest, which I do like, he even apologized towards the end saying that he was sorry if he hurt my feelings, that he was just " talking to me like a man " . Which I wasnt upset about, I'm guessing it was more in regards to me going infertile and if I cared to have kids in the future. > > Is there anything else I need to bring up to the endo besides just about my results and hcg/testosterone. He was leaning more towards the shots which I am okay with. He mentioned that I would be doing 1 shot every 2 weeks, which I talked him into letting me do 2 shots a week so its less spikey, and he agreed that it would be fine to do it that way. > > > Thanks for the help! >
Guest guest
Well, when he was going over my symptoms with me, he basically just broke down everything I was saying into parts. To try to help me understand what I was going through. The weight gain was associated with depression that I gained, and with low T, it basically would make the situation worse, because the testosterone would turn into estrogen alot more easily because of more fat. He mentioned basically that when I am testosterone, I would go infertile. If I wanted or planned to have kids he would basically have me on HCG which helps produce testosterone through the testicles, and it would keep them at their normal size. For some men, that is a touchy subject, for me it isnt so much because I don't plan to have kids, but he still wants me to know I have that option to do HCG should I choose to do so, and he would rather I start it now, than later. As for going to my GP, I mainly went because all of my symptoms could be associated with multiple things. The GP thought it was my thyroid, because I had almost all of the symptoms on stopthethyroidmadness.com. I had all the tests come back normal, then he tested my T levels, free T, shbg, and a few others, and those all came back abnormal. > > > > Well, I was prescribed Testim by my GP, and had went from 124 pre-testim to 488 on 50mg/tube a day. Guest guest
Here we go again a dam Endo telling a man on TRT to shot the TRT for 3 dam months so he can do labs. WTF when are they going to learn this is not going to show them anything. Once your on TRT 10 days your body shuts down from making Testosterone and will not start back up again like you were before gong on TRT. All he is going to find out doing this is how dam sick he is going to make you. Endo's and Uro's are not good Dr.'s for low testosterone his taking you off TRT your going to crash and can end up with levels lower then you started. I know this because I see 7 Endo's in the last 29 yrs and every dam one of them did this to me. Then each time they did this it took me longer to get my levels back up going back on TRT. And they still never got it right each one told me my testis don't work. After being on TRT 23 yrs being told I am Primary I found out I am not I am Secondary my Pituitary does not work right from a head injury. You need to run from this dam Dr. this is criminal to do this to a man on TRT. I have lost count as to how many men have posted at diff. forums about the problems they had being sent to see an Endo. I only know of two men that found one that was any good and they did not pull time off TRT. Once you start on TRT your brain sees the Testosterone in your blood and stops sending the messages of LH and FSH to your testis and your testis stop working and will not start working again. If you seen a DR. like Dr. and he did a restart on you and if your lucky for it to work all your going to see is the levels you had before going on TRT. So doing this dose not tell the Endo anything about how your were before going on TRT. Go back to your Family Dr. that sent you to see this Endo and tell him what he wants you to do. Every time I did this I ended up dam sick and off work on sick leave for months. Ask your Family Dr. to work with Dr. over the phone to test and treat you if he can't this way he will learn about this on your dime and be able to treat you. www.allthingsmale.com Co-Moderator Phil > From: daqman247 <daqman247@...> > Subject: TRT and my new Endo > > Date: Tuesday, July 20, 2010, 9:34 PM > Well, I was prescribed Testim by my > GP, and had went from 124 pre-testim to 488 on 50mg/tube a > day. Guest guest
Men please don't waste your time and money see an Endo the are not good Dr.'s for low Testosterone. If your family Dr. dose not know how to treat you go to Dr. 's site and read and print out TRT: A Recipe for Success and his HCG update and give this to your Dr. Dr. puts this out there free for you and your Dr. www.allthingsmale.com Co-Moderator Phil > From: Shaun <shaunskel@...> > Subject: Re: TRT and my new Endo > > Date: Tuesday, July 20, 2010, 9:46 PM > Hey, > I am still new to low T and I havent started any treatment > yet. Guest guest
dagman read my story it's sad but helps others to see what seeing the wrong Dr.'s can do to your life. http://forums.realthyroidhelp.com/viewtopic.php?f=5 & t=9239 Of all the Dr's I seen the Endo's were the worst they are only good for high sugar they don't even know about Thyroid and dam Dr. that will test and treat someone by TSH only is nuts. And most Endo's do this. Guest guest
How bout if I just ask my family doctor to give me a blood test that checks for all of the pertinent hormones? That's all I really want to do. I agree with you Phil, most of these doctors are a waste of time. I have learned more on my own in the past 4 weeks than any doctor has told me!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been to two doctors, and they both said the same thing, your Testosterone level is normal, WTF! Easy for them to say, they're not suffering from low libido!!! > > > From: daqman247 <daqman247@...> > > Subject: TRT and my new Endo > > > > Date: Tuesday, July 20, 2010, 9:34 PM > > Well, I was prescribed Testim by my > > GP, and had went from 124 pre-testim to 488 on 50mg/tube a > > day.
