We have a big dog, too. She barks at everybody that

comes to the door, friend or foe. I guess it's her way

of saying hello. She's about 8 years old and has never

bitten anybody yet. But she barks enough to make a

stranger wonder if he should step in or not... -dz-

Good to hear from you Diane. They all count. Our black cat meows at the

door and then when you go to let him out he runs to the kitchen to be fed

(some more!). We started keeping the dobie in during the winter. Her hair

isn't very warm and she just shivers and is very unhappy outside. She is

getting older too. Hope her kidneys hold up. The husky would much rather

be out during the winter. She sleeps outside her dog house unless it is

raining. The chickens would rather be with Jan at this time of the year -

although it looks cold down there lately. Hope Jan has her kneemuffs on :-)

We got a German Shepherd puppy right before Christmas. Her father is 130

lbs, and out of a litter of 12, one of the males was the largest, and she

was the next largest. She will be 12 weeks old, and she is just about

bigger then our Cocker Spaniel. Right now she is a big chicken, but I am

sure she will change as she gets older.

Hi Jan

She got a little female. Spends a lot of time down at the neighbor playing with it when she can. This one will probably end up as spoiled as our other dog.

Re: [ ] Digest Number 233

you said Kay got one too?? That is so good..Is it a male or female?? Mine is a boy..He's spoiled rotten too and I love it!!

Well, between your watch cat and supply of firearms,

I'd say you're pretty safe... :) -dz-

Sounds like we have near the same family, although I

don't think chickens would be welcomed in Green Bay,

though we are surrounded by farmland. I noticed our

dobie doesn't care to stay out as long as she does in

the summer time, unless the neighbor dogs are out.

I love shepherds, I have had a few over the years. The

females tend to be a little smaller than the males,

though 130 lbs is quite large, even for a shepherd,

there may be a wolf in the woodpile :) I found with

mine there was a point in their growth when they would

challenge me and I had to leave them no doubt I was

still in charge... Have fun with her. I love puppies,

but I shudder when I think of some of the damage mine

have done... :) -dz-

My Dobie hated the cold...... She would go out and howl to come back in

as soon as she was done her business.... That dog was up my butt every

where I moved.... I used to say why don't you climb up so you don't have

to waste your time walking.... LOL... When visitors came by she thought

they were for her... She would flip their hand so they would pet her....

If I left the house she would be mad at me when I came back and just

look at me for a few minutes.... Then come over..... Animals are really

a mans best friend.... They never betray you and ask for little in

return.... Just Love. And of course food.....

My cat does the same thing.... Meows to go out and when I get up tolet

er out she runs to eat some more.....

Hi Diane

Ours gets so close to the wood stove she gets real hot to the touch and I

have to move her. The hens don't complain about the cold (they don't lay

eggs either) and the fish is quiet :-)

> Worried about future surgeries and more output of money,

I wouldn't worry just yet. I have had the same problem and I have

discovered that the problem with me is that they make you sit up with the

needle still in your port. I find that if I refuse to sit up, then the

fluid stays in my band. If I sit up, then I lose fluid and have to go back

the next day to have it put back in (on the second trip I refuse to sit up

and it all stays in fine). This has happened to me twice now. On my first

fill we thought I had a leak but it wasn't the case. Now I know not to let

them talk me into sitting up.

Hi all,

I went up to Tacoma Radiology today for my second fill. The doctor drew out

the solution from the last fill to see how much was in there. They put in

1.6 cc's a week ago on Monday and today there was only .6 cc's left. He put

1.6 cc's in again and said I'll just have to wait it out and go back in

about 3 weeks. They will do the same thing again and if there is less than

1.6 cc's, he siad it is likely that I have a leak in my tubing somewhere.

The thing I can't understand is that if Inamed is going to manufacture this

thing to be surgically implanted into someones body, wouldn't they check the

tubing before they have it implanted in someone? There is no way on earth

that this got damaged after it was put in me.

Worried about future surgeries and more output of money,

, What do you mean you will not sit up? Do they

ask you to set up while they still have the needle in

the port area? I'm heading up to Tacoma for a fill next

week. I want to make sure all the fluid stays in my

port system. I do not want to have to drive back up

only to find out I have little fluid.........

Yes that's what I mean - they make you sit up with the needle still in your

port so you can test the fill by drinking water and eating some apple sauce.

If things feel fine then they pull the needle out. I now refuse to sit up

because everytime I do, it makes me lose the fluid it in my band.

This list is the BEST! I've been on it for a few months now and just wish

more specialists would sign on! When I am not so busy I intend collating

the anecdotes and information into a faq list - any objections to this? I

won't use full names or real names unless people insist.

all the best,
