Guest guest
I am so excited, I can barely contain myself! I'd jump up and down if it didn't hurt so much!!!! I just had my phone consultation with Dr. Sullivan. He has APPROVED me as an LDN patient and is calling in the prescription to Skip's Pharmacy now! OMG! It's finally happening! Whether or not it works - and I'm betting it will - I'm just so excited to finally talk to a doctor that asked me the RIGHT questions and was actually concerned about ME! OK, calming down a bit....here is an update on what happens when you call Dr. Sullivan's office. His office is in PA (I'm in Indiana so I did a phone consultation). He charges $7.25/minute for the phone consultation. When you call them for the first time, they ask you if you have a fax number where you can receive faxes. They fax approx. 7 pages to you for you to fill out - medical history, medications, allergies, credit card number, etc. Then you fax it back to them. When they receive the fax, they call you and schedule a time for you to call and do the consultation (and boy, they were quick too - I called them on Friday and was scheduled for today, Tuesday!). So for those of you who don't have fax machines, I have a couple of recommendations. 1. To receive faxes: Sign up for eFax.com. They will issue you a free fax number. Generally it will not be in your area code but what eFax does is send faxes that you receive directly to your email, where you can print them out. 2. To send faxes by web, I use Fax1.com. This is not free, but it only costs 12 cents per page. You have to be able to send things directly from your computer, though. What I do is after I fill out paperwork, I scan it, then I use Microsoft Office Picture Manager to crop and reduce the size of each page, then I copy and paste all the pages I'm faxing into a new Microsoft Office Document. Fax1 allows you to send one attachment per fax, so if you can get all those pages onto a Microsoft OFfice Document, you only have to send one fax; otherwise you would have to send each page separately. (If anyone needs more help with this just let me know.) Then I sign into Fax1.com, type in the fax number and TO spot, attach the Office document, and click send. Anyway, that's how you can do all the faxing from your computer. The easiest way for those who don't have scanners or Office is to just get a free eFax number to receive faxes, and then go somewhere with a fax machine to fax the information back to the doctor's office. Woo hoo! Time to party on...well, time for somemore ibuprofen anyway, and I'm going to rest and watch a movie!!!!!! Cheryl
Guest guest
Good going, Cheryl Just a note to say that if your computer has a 56k modem, you can plug in a phone cord and send your fax right from your computer. I've been doing this for years. Also, I ask for all blank forms be sent via email rather than by FAX. Best wishes for your success with LDN. I look forward to reading of your progress. mjh www.ldn-help.com <-- go here to get the new LDN brochure Access 350+ FREE radio stations anytime from anywhere on the web. Get the Radio Toolbar! Guest guest
Cheryl, That is great and congrats. I have posted my experiences regarding LDN and seen no feedback. Now, I understand that I have been very luck to have two doctors (both my PCP and now my Neuro) who give me credit for having some brains and not asking for a prescription for a drug that will cause me financial hardship nor physical harm. My PCP actually wrote me the prescription for LDN saying "well it can't hurt you". Personally, I would not feel comfortable using the tactic of a phone interview to get LDN (but I would have if that was my only alternative). I would think your PCP would be the appropriate route as your PCP should be concerned about your general health and LDN does not violate that goal. LDN does not fit into a Neurologist's list of general protocols so a Neurologist might not go for it (but a PCP should have no such objection). Please let me know if you or anyone else here has an objection to this (at larry@...) Larry
