Vitamin D Deficiency and PA

I got results of a blood test a few days ago which found that I am

vitamin D deficient. I was prescribed a supplement and started it a few

days ago. I saw online that there may be a correlation between vitamin

D deficiency and arthritis or other autoimmune diseases (I suppose

psoriasis would be included.) I am also always feeling tired and weak

even though I am only 21 years old and sleep enough generally. Does

anyone know anything about this?

(As a side point, does this deficiency hold any threats to pregnancy,

if the supplement is started right in the beginning?)

Wileeva,

I've read that there is some correlation between Vitamin D deficiency

and PA & P.

I may be the exception to the rule, but I am forever in the sun (a good

source of vitamin D) and I still have stubborn patches of P, and still

have PA.

Tired, weak, exhausted are all typical symptoms of P & PA.

No idea what the relevance of a Vitamin D deficiency is to pregnancy,

but if you are pregnant, are trying to get pregnant or want to consider

having children, you may be limited it what drugs you can safely take

to combat P or PA. As many drugs are not recommended during,or before

pregnancy. You really need to consult your doctor and/or

rheumatologist.

Stay Well,

That used to be called rickets. I have always been deficient in that

too. It causes bone pain and sift bones. I couldn't take what the doctor

prescribed for me, it made me sick, so I use over the counter at double the

dose. It doesn't make it normal, but helped a lot.

I have been deficient in vitamin D also. Supplementation really helped my

energy level. However, the first dosage prescribed did not boost my levels.

They were rechecked after 6 weeks or so- no improvement- so gave me even higher

doses and that finally got my levels up.

Pregnancy- related, sorry I don't know.
