Guest guest
Hiya , The same has happend to me! My rheumy has told me there is a big question mark over whether its PA or Fibro. My blood tests came back normal, but I believe that they dont always show up anyway with PA. The scans have also showed that my joints etc have no sign of deteriation, so its up in the air still whether I have PA. <claire_hodkinson@...> wrote: Hi all. I have strange news. My rheumy has taken me off Methotrexate and Sulfasalazine, and I am having no greater pain than before. I'm still on celebrex and Zydol. He now beleives I have Fibromyalgia. No blood tests have ever shown anything, now a year of x-rays show no deterioration anywhere... though my sites of pain have increased from the original hands, fingers and wrists to include feet, knees, hips a little and lower back in the sacrum, oh and shoulders and jaw. I am also awful tired, sleep hours and hours and dream vividly but wake up feeling just as exhausted. Whats the collective view on all this? would I have something to see on x-ray if it was PA? Or is my rheumy probably right? I must admit to thinking myself it was possible it was fibromyalgia already. XX C.
Guest guest
Hi , hard to say....pa usually is definitely in the joints while fibro can hurt all over. pa usually swells but not always while fibro doesn't seem to show outward swelling...it is possible to have pa and not have it show up in the blood or xrays. In my hips, for example, the pa hurts all around the joint and the fibro has a trigger point of pain a good 2 inches under the joint. anyway...good luck and hope you don't have pa...
