Guest guest
Hello All -- In PA, there has been a coalition of several Lyme Disease support groups - as many as we could get connected with - focused on a bill in the PA Senate. Last spring we went to burg with five families with kids affected by Lyme to meet with Senator Greenleaf regarding a Lyme bill. He had introduced a Lyme bill focused on education for about 15 years, and NOONE was interested - no constituents, no senators, NO ONE! every year he introduced it, and nothing... no interest. Then we arrived -- we filled him in on our stories, and how the situation has changed since his early contact with Lyme. We told him that the House bill (a very strong bill, addressing most issues with Lyme) had passed the House several times only to get stopped at the SENATE. He agreed to write a new Senate bill to be a companion to the House bill -- this meant that if we could get the bill going in the Senate and educate the Senate, it was likely it would again pass in the House, and we would have a really strong Lyme bill passed in PA! So, that is what has been underway in the last 9 months-- and the baby has been birthed -- the bill is Senate Bill #1199 -- and is now in the Banking and Insurance committee. Our first step was to make enough noise that the committee would agree to a public hearing -- AND -- we have gotten that public hearing! It will be sometime in May (date TBA) and is being scheduled shortly. This is HUGE -- all affected by Lyme in PA and their families and friends need to get their voice in and SHOW UP in burg for the hearing. They need to see lots of us! We need your help: * see www.lymeactionpa.com <http://www.lymeactionpa.com> for all details and easy links/tools * sign our on-line petition (link on website) - and pass this link along * share your case, to montcolyme@... <mailto:montcolyme@...> , to include in a case log to be provided to the committee considering this bill * circulate petitions and gather signatures * tell people and get ready to show up at the public hearing Please go to this website... there is ACTION happening in PA! You can email me with questions - check us out on Facebook too! _montcolyme@... <mailto:_montcolyme@...> . This is our time! We need to show-up, get our voices and stories heard, AND let them know that this bill is needed in PA! - Wagner

Guest guest
We need something like that here in NY. Especially since Long Island is so bad with the ticks, cause we have the pine barrens and soooo many deer. You cant even drive down the road without them running out right in front of you. I've had a few close calls and my oldest son son totaled his jeep. From: <ecckwalk@...> Subject: Re: [ ] PA - Big News! Lyme Bill moving in PA Senate!!
