While I was there I accompanied both my folks to Dr. apps. My Mom has PA but does not have the HLA-B27 gene. My Dad has the gene, along with ankylosing spondylitis. So my siblings and I got hit from both sides; we all 3 have one or both diseases. It was good to be able to go with them and ask questions. My Mom is too far advanced and has too many other health problems for the Dr. to even consider the newer meds. At this point they are trying to make her as comfortable as possible. My Dad has some issues, but for 77 he is doing well!
