The methotrexate helped me for about 6 months, still had pain but not so bad but it didn't last long. I would say he is VERY lucky if he is able to function with only that medication. God bless him. Some of us are not as lucky. The Enbrel is still helping me but not sure for how long. Constant thankfulness for the relief I am getting. Hang in there. I don't think Dr's realize that pain can almost be ALL consuming. It takes away you will to want anything other than " to be out of pain.
