Guest guest
I pray often and tell my kid how proud of him I am as often as I can, hugs and kissses all the time, I STAY positive~ ________________________________ From: colettejamesanderson <colettejamesanderson@...> Sent: Wednesday, April 22, 2009 11:02:41 AM Subject: [ ] What gets you through a hard day... Thought we could start an ongoing question. We rock out to music DVD's dancing, or singing or doing exercises (situps, jumping jacks, weights) to Hillsong - Jesus Is My Superhero - www.christianbook. com (it is great the kids request it often), also We Cry Out DVD (jesusculturemusic. com), or also any Wow Worship or Wow Hits DVD's - www.christianbook. com. Sometimes I hold the girls one at a time and dance with them. They love this! They just snuggle tight especially when I swing them around. Hope you post some more ideas. Guest guest
In good weather, a nice walk in the woods with the kids and the dogs. It refreshes us all. The end of the path is a nice park with a zip line. Otherwise, we all crawl into our bed and watch movies. We've hooked up a VCR in there so we take out old disney movies from the library and cuddle up! Guest guest
i agree with the walk. i was having a pretty rough week, but today i had a talk with my homeopath and he was so positive about helping my son that i left the conversation with alot more hope and a positive outlook. a great conversation with some positive goes pretty far in my book. Guest guest
These days, it's usually my kids (who are currently 19 and 21) who recount some of the things we have accomplished that are supposed to be completely impossible. That's something I used to do. This past year has been especially hard on me, psychologically and emotionally, and I am usually not up to " counting my blessings " . Still, when people ask how I am or how life is going, I find myself telling them very sincerely that " I'm fine " or " life is good " even though I might be wallowing in self pity when alone. For many years, I was unable to say things were " fine " even though I knew it was kind of a rhetorical question and people didn't REALLY want to know how I was doing. They were just making chit chat and I was supposed to say " Fine " . I just couldn't. Now, I do say " Fine " even though I am not sure where that answer comes from because life is pretty stressful. Still, it's far better than it used to be and it's far better than it would be if we hadn't worked on getting well. I consider my spontaneous replies to people I barely know to be kind of like a " Freudian slip " -- and insight into my deeper feelings -- and an indication of how much better I feel about my life in spite of often being really whiny and upset.
