Guest guest
Bumping the question ( " ALA " = " Thioctic Acid " = " Thioctic Acid (D, L-amide) " ), with the hope Dr. Cutler or others versed in Chemistry can answer... Huge thanks, in advance! Re: [ ] ALA=Thioctic Acid? The inactive ingredients are: cellactose, sodium crosscarmellose, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, polyethylene glycol 6000, povidone, talc, sugar, microcrystalline cellulose, titanium dioxide, erythrosine, amaranth, hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose, carnauba wax, white wax. > >> > >> Dear group, > >> > >> I wanted to ask you (specially Andy, if that's > possible): is Thioctic > >> Acid the same thing than Alpha lipoic acid (ALA)? > >> > >> I'm asking this because in my country (I'm in > Argentina) I have not > >> Alpha lipoic acid as over-the-counter supplement. > I only could find a > >> medicament (it says that is a hepatic protector, > antitoxic and > >> metabolic activator) with " 25 mg of thioctic > acid " . > >> Can this be suitable for AC chelation protocol > with " only ALA " ? > >> > >> Huge thanks, in advance > >> > >> M. > >> > >> [Non-text portions of this message have been > removed] > >> > >> > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > ======================================================= > >

D, L-amide means, in English, a mix of " R-enantiomer and S-enantiomer " . This is the standard formulation of ALA. The formulation that is only the R-enantiomer is marketed as " R-ALA " and is a fad. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lipoic_acid#R-enantiomer_and_S-enantiomer Andy Cutler STRONGLY recommends ALA, not R-ALA. So you have the correct medicament to chelate. > > Re: [ ] ALA=Thioctic Acid? > > The inactive ingredients are: > > cellactose, > sodium crosscarmellose, > colloidal silicon dioxide, > magnesium stearate, > polyethylene glycol 6000, > povidone, > talc, > sugar, > microcrystalline cellulose, > titanium dioxide, > erythrosine, > amaranth, > hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose, > carnauba wax, > white wax. > > > > >> > > >> Dear group, > > >> > > >> I wanted to ask you (specially Andy, if that's > > possible): is Thioctic > > >> Acid the same thing than Alpha lipoic acid (ALA)? > > >> > > >> I'm asking this because in my country (I'm in > > Argentina) I have not > > >> Alpha lipoic acid as over-the-counter supplement. > > I only could find a > > >> medicament (it says that is a hepatic protector, > > antitoxic and > > >> metabolic activator) with " 25 mg of thioctic > > acid " . > > >> Can this be suitable for AC chelation protocol > > with " only ALA " ? > > >> > > >> Huge thanks, in advance > > >> > > >> M. > > >> > > >> [Non-text portions of this message have been > > removed] > > >> > > >> > > >
