Mark, Auditory Processing problems from early ear infections are very common. Most children with Auditory Discrimination problems have the same behavioral characteristics as ADD. I'd look into either, Auditory Discrimination, Auditory Reception or Auditory Association difficulties. I personally use a bi-polar montage with C3/C4 and Fp1. This has been successful with these concerns. I would also suggest Brain Gym exercises by Dennison. Good-Luck Lise' Lise' D. Guest guest
Mark, How bad is the coordination? Is the youngster concerned about it or just his mother? The last kid I saw who had " learning and attention " problems with a hx of ear infections had serious hearing loss. Has he had a recent hearing test? If he has any inner ear problems as a result of all the infections that may have an impact on his balance and coordination. A hearing test and possible exam by a eent might be a good idea. Guest guest
My older boy is very mercury toxic and goes to dance class. Natural dancer. Rides a bike very well. Quite strong. I think all kids are different. Depends on where the mercury lands I guess. (p. 62)...just wondering how often this is the case. My son is very strong and coordinated. Incredible balance. People were amazed with him when he was an infant/toddler. Is it possible that mercury isn't affecting that part of his brain, but affecting others? Or could it be affecting it in a way that produces the opposite result from most? Do any of you have kids who are/were mercury toxic who don't fit into that description? Just curious as I start to work my way through all of this. Going to order the hair elements test next week, so I guess I'll know something soon Thanks, Kari
Guest guest
Our son has always been highly advanced physically and mentally, has great balance and spacial awareness, he is ahead of most of the kids in K and he is 3.5 years old, he reads, he knows where every single country in the world is, he has amazing sound discrimination....he is also mercury toxic and has SPD. I agree that every child will be effected at different degrees and ways. > > My older boy is very mercury toxic and goes to dance class. Natural dancer. Rides a bike very well.
