Adrenal Tests

It's very rare to have a pituitary tumor, you just had a baby right.

So you have your period not to worry about this. The best test for

adrenal is really the dhea test, a low test in this area shows your

adrenals are struggling to put out hormone. Thus your need for

cortisol or adrenal glandulars

The lutenizing and follicle stimulation tests have to do with

menstruating correctly where as the hormones are putting out the

right amount to cause this. You go through lutenzing phases durning

the month when the follicles are stimulate to produce an egg to be

released.

This is the typical group of testing doctors do to determine if

anything is not working correctly.

Mind you my daughter had low female hormones (no egg was being

produced), low prolactin numbers (she would not produce milk if she

had too) and they still did not realize she was adrenal fatigued.

The best test is the salavia test with a combination of these tests,

the ACTH test as well --

If she thought you had a tumor you would be having a brain cat scan

or a MRI. So not to worry.

she isn't testing cortisol. Most tests for cortisol aren't any good

anyway. I think you can throw the tests out the window. Try OTC

progesterone cream, if it helps then it helps. Try isocort (OTC adrenal

support) and then you will know if that helps. Only holistic and Broda

docs know how to treat adrenals anyway.

http://www.acam.org If DHEA is low, that can be an indicator to supplement

with cortisol, but I'll bet you $100 she doesn't know it. :)

Tina,

it's funny b/c I don't have any problems with menstruation - I even had it

all throughout 14 mos of breastfeeding.

this is really something to be able to do both, most people don't

have a period if the baby is only eating breast milk---usually once

food is introduced the mother will start to have a period again, but

to go 14 months with a period is unusual. All your hormones are off

because of this as well as your past pregnancy. Your body needs a

good REST sweetie!!!!!!! You deserve it too!!! Best bet for you is to

follow the vitamin therapy for adrenals as well.

Tina,

thanks - I'm definitely open to supplements for adrenal, but I'm going to

wait to see what my results say first - I would hate to start taking stuff

and have it make my lab result #'s better and then not be able to get any

treatment. you know what I mean? if they tell me i'm fine, then i will go

from there with alterative things. Do you think it's that unusual for me

to have had a period all this time? My best friend did as well and she is

" healthy " .
